By the time Grandmother knocked on the door, my pillow was a soggy mess.

When I didn't respond, she simply came in, "Johnny? Are you alright?"

"Not now Grandmother," I responded, "I'm not in the mood..."

But you don't just tell the Queen of England that you're not in the mood. She came over and stood by my bed. "Dear-"

"Please," I sobbed, "Don't call me that..."

"Well what's wrong?"

The red hot tears flowed quicker. "The love of my life... Doesn't remember me... And she's afraid because I'm royalty."

Grandmother sighed, "I'm afraid I cannot do anything about that Johnny. Is there anything you want?"

I shook my head. The only thing I wanted was Max.

"Well, I'll have someone get you something to eat." She walked out and closed the door.

~~~Max~~~
I was still cleaning the throne room when my worst fear (for the time being) came walking in. The Queen walked in to see me doing my mom's job and I stood up in an instant when I heard her voice. "You're not Gavin's servant."
Shoot. "Uh, nah my queen. Ah-Ah was helping fer ma mom 'cause she hurt her back. Ah'm sorry."
"Don't be. I'll have someone else come help." She was about to walk away when she stopped and looked at me again. "That accent... You're the American girl hired for Johnny's servant aren't you?"
I nodded, "Yes'm."
She smiled and clapped her hands together. "Good! I'm glad I found you so quickly. I need you to bring something to eat for him. He's in his room, terribly upset. I'm afraid he won't come for breakfast."
I did an awkward bow, "Yes'm, Queen."
She nodded and walked away. I was off to see the prince again.
