Riko always thought about the poker face her father usually displays every time they visit her mother's grave. For the thousandth time now, she had seen his inscrutable face that reveals no hint of thoughts or even feelings.
She didn't said a word nor asked him how he felt. She just stood there, gazing at him through the corners of her eyes as he gently lay a bouquet of flowers and whispered some words to her mother's tomb. Watching him that way caused her not to stop wondering about how much he had gone through all the pain he had after losing his wife.
It must have been painful.
Really painful.
From the point where he had seen the woman of his life taken away from him and left him, with their child. She wondered, how amazingly did he managed to fought the trouble of raising her alone without the support of her deceased mother.
He is indeed a cool dad. Not just because he had been a known national player in the field of Basketball but because of being the best father she could ask for. Though there are some times, where he acts annoying and worries on her too much. That he even recklessly pointed a gun towards Hyuuga and her team, one time when he asked them who peeked on his precious daughter and telling them he was the only one who have the right to see her naked.
"Papa," she gently tapped her sole parent's right shoulder.
"It's fine thinking about yourself too," she blurted out, earning the older man's surprised reaction. Like him, she was also taken aback from what she had said.
"I mean -- you should also ..."
"No," he replied, turning on her and blandly patting her head.
"You alone are already enough for me."
"But ..."
"I won't ask for more. For I already have the most precious person I could ask for ..." His expressionless face quickly turned into one of his enthusiastic yet irritating expressions, an annoying broad smile plastered on his wrinkled face.
" ... My sweet, Riko~tan ♡ . Who in the future will be Papa's bri --"
She immediately hit him in the abdomen before he could finish his sentence.
He's still irksome as ever, she thought, shaking her head in disbelief

Riko went to their kitchen as soon as she had changed into her usual clothes while at home. Upon opening the fridge and taking out something she could eat for dinner, she noticed a note sticked on it's door.
It said,
There's food in the fridge. Just reheat it when you're hungry. Don't skip your meal. Make sure to lock the doors and windows close. Sleep early. Staying late at night isn't good for your skin. Papa will be home late. So, don't worry.
Love, Papa.
Just like what he said in the letter, she reheated the food he prepared for her and she slept early, right after doing her home works and some stuffs related to her basketball coaching, training and being the new student council president. When she woke up the next morning, she hurriedly took a bath, changed into her school uniform and ate breakfast. She even noticed her dad hasn't come back since yesterday. She wondered why, so she messaged him before leaving for school.
