The children of Cronus and his wife, Rhea, were called gods. Though they were his children, Cronus feared that his children would be stronger than he was, and take over. So, he gobbled them up and them being immortal, they sat for a long, long, long time.
But one day Rhea was pregnant with their sixth child, Zeus. She hated watching her children get eaten, so, when he was born, she tricked her husband into eating a stone wrapped in cloth, instead of Zeus. The stone made Cronus throw up not only the rock itself, but his five other children, Demeter, Hestia, Hera, Hades, and Poseison. Zeus released the hundred handed ones and the Cyclopes, then began a gigantic war.
This war was the largest of all Greek mythology. It took ten years. The Hundred handed ones grew to the size of mountains and threw huge boulders at the Titans now opposing them. The Cyclopes created great weapons to help destroy the Titans. The Gods used all their strength to fight. Some of the Titans joined the Gods. Their names were Themis and Prometheus.
After the ten years of battle, Zeus cut Cronus into a million pieces with his own scythe and cast him to Tartarus.
