Rose's POV

"Okay, Rose. Calm down, it's not like you haven't already seen a man naked before- bullshit! My brother doesn't count! This is a stranger!", I thought to myself as I tried to control my breathing.

My face burned as I tried to regain my composure but I was having trouble since the man behind me was laughing at me. I dared to glance behind me where the blonde looked like he belonged in a place for the criminally insane.

His smile was huge and his laugh held something that just screamed "I'm crazy!". After a few minutes of calming down, the stranger wiped his eyes with the back of his hand but continued to smile, toning it down a bit. "I do apologize Rose. It's just that's a first for me".

I cleared my throat and walked to the bathroom where I grabbed a towel. I handed it to him when I walked back into the room and then walked back over to the window with my back facing him.

"I guess this is a new experience for the both of us. It's alright, just wrap that towel around you and I'll finish up", I said, staring out the window trying to calm myself down.

I never worked with adults before so dealing with a man had me flustered.

He snickered. "Alright".

I heard the sounds of fabric rustling and hisses of pain as I stared at the snow outside. After a few minutes, he told me I could turn around again. I sighed and I turned to see him sitting back down on the bed with the towel wrapping around his waist exposing his entire leg, just barely covering what I was too shy to see.

"I must say hairy legs is sought of a turn- No bad! This is a stranger!", I shook my head free of any more inappropriate thoughts and moved to where he sat. I bent down and adjusted my glasses before I started removing the bandages.

The wounds were healing nicely and luckily for him, they wouldn't have left a very noticeable scar. The stitches were still intact despite him moving around so much.

I was so into wrapping his wounds I didn't even notice him staring at me and I kept going for a few minutes. I had to retrieve more bandages from the bathroom since his leg was so damn long!

"Rose", he called as I finished applying ointment and wrapping his knee.

"Yes?", I answered as I started with his thigh.

"What do you do for a living?"

I rinsed out the cloth again. "I work as a school nurse during when it's the off-storm season. You would be very surprised to see what kind of injuries those kids can get. But during the winter I hunt and trade with other locals when there are breaks in the storm", I explained as I started wrapping his thigh.

"Ah, now I see why you have such skills", Doflamingo said before he sucked air in through his teeth as I accidentally pulled the bandages a bit too tight.

I just mumbled a simple apology and continued. We remained silent as I finished wrapping most of his leg. "I'm gonna need you to lift your leg a bit if that's possible".

"I'll try", he said, lifting his leg a few inches off the bed and I quickly wrapped his thigh finished before he lowered it again.

"Alright, I'm mostly done. I just need to do your hip and then you can put your pants back on while I go check on the roast", I said as I looked behind me for the water bowl and realized that the water was now cold and bloody. "I'll be right back", I said as I got up, grabbed the bowl, and walked to the bathroom.

Doflamingo's POV

I watched as the blue-haired woman tended to my wounds. Her treatment was not only filled with gentleness and care but genuine knowledge of how it needed to be done, she was no amateur. It would've been a shame if she were to find out what I was truly capable of. Well, it couldn't be helped if she did. The world was always talking and you would truly not care about anything if you didn't know what was happening around you.

"And I'm done".

I looked down at her and noticed that she had finally finished. I thanked her and she just smiled, nodded her head, picked up everything, and before she closed the door and left she said that dinner would be ready in 30 minutes. I stared at the door for a moment before I let the towel fall away and slipped my legs back into the pants she had given me. After I had considered myself decent enough I left the room but before I could make it into the hallway, the cat from earlier appeared in my path, stopping me from going any further.

I looked down at the furry creature as it stared up at me with emotionless eyes and a bored expression. It yawned and stretched its back before it decided to roll onto my foot and start cuddling it. It wasn't uncomfortable but the sensation was very different. As the creature continued its rolling and cuddling it started purring on my foot. I shook my foot and this nudged the cat off and back onto the floor.

I quickly stepped over it and made my way to the kitchen where I had originally intended to be. When I arrived Rose had set the table and was currently plating some starters. She had set a bottle of red wine on the table, along with 2 glasses.

"It looks great", I said and Rose jumped, letting out a gasp of fright.

She turned to me wide-eyed and her face paler than it originally was. " Sorry, I'm not used to living with other people".

"My apologies, why don't you take a seat? You look a bit pale", I said taking a step toward her and she shook her head.

Rose closed her eyes and took a few breaths as the color, or lack thereof, returned to her face. She opened her eyes and they seemed to sparkle a bit more than before as she smiled. "I'm alright, please have a seat, and do you mind pouring the wine? I'm just plating the starters", she said as she finished garnishing the salad with olive oil that paired with stuffed mushrooms before she turned back to what she was doing after I gave a simple nod.

As I pulled open the bottle and an amazingly sweet aroma hit my nose. There were notes of perfectly aged plums, seeder wood and oak. I must have been in another world as Rose suddenly touch my arm. I hadn't heard her calling me.

"Doffy, are you alright? You've been staring into space for some time", Rose said, looking up at me with her eyes filled with worry.

"I don't deserve those eyes", I frowned at my thoughts causing her look even more concerned. "It's alright, Rose. It's just I haven't had wine in some time so I wasn't prepared for the aroma", I said, plastering on a small smile and she seemed to relax.

"Ok then, let's eat", she said and with that, she walked over to her seat and before she could pull out her chair I stopped her.

"Let me", I said as I pulled out her seat and she blushed as she took a seat.

"Thank you", she said,  looking back at me with a smile.

I stared down at her and gave a court nod before I took my seat. We began eating in comfortable silence as the fire in the lounge crackled and burned. I could hear the distant sound of the wind whipping the snow and trees around.

'This woman is completely oblivious to who she's having dinner with. Not only has she saved and taken a dangerous criminal into her home but she's revealed what she does for a living and that she lives alone", my thoughts continued as we finished our starters.

I was famished as I had finished 11 of the 12 starters Rose had made. She seemed content with matching me eat as she kept serving me without me needing to ask her and when the roast was done she had served me up a portions triple the size of her own and still served me up another helping. The food was delicious and very well prepared as Rose seemed to have prepared everything with the love and care any hostess would've given to a beloved guest.
