It had been a while since the fall of Beacon, 6 months Blake counted. But she didn't count it as the fall of Beacon, she counted it as the amount of time she spent away from her partner, Yang. Blake sighed and finished off her drawing of her and Yang, it wasn't a happy picture but one that Blake has had nightmares about for a few days now. It depicted Yang towering over Blake who was lying willing to take all of Yang's anger and hatred. She took a shaky breath and dated it before putting it away in her bag and went into the city to scavenge supplies. She got a few essentials to keep her going but her worst fear stood a few feet in front of her, Yang Xiao Long. The girl that showed her kindness, love and the true meaning of care, only this time she was pissed. Blake froze in fear and struggled to speak a word to her, Yang walked over eyes red

"You left me!"

Blake looked down at her feet "I'm-I'm sorry Yang, I had to protect you" Yang didn't buy her pathetic attempt at a reason, she grabbed Blake by the arm and held tight. It hurt, but Blake didn't show it "you are not getting out of my sight again" she nodded and they walked to the place Blake called home.

For the majority of the day, Blake avoided making eye contact with Yang, she would watch Yang cook with one arm. She brought out her sketch pad and decided to draw again, this time it sparked the slightest bit of hope in Blake but it was snuffed out when she was brought back to reality by a plate being slid over to her. She glanced at the food, her stomach growling but she picked it up and placed it beside Yang "you have it..." She walked back to her place at the wall and continued her drawing. It was of her and Yang, the two of them close and smiling, Blake smiled and wiped the tears that fell down her face and onto the page. She knew that would never happen, or if Yang would forgive her, she dated it and put it away. Yang had made herself a bed to sleep in and drifted off, Blake however stayed up. Keeping a watch out, that and not daring to sleep due to her nightmares. She glanced over at Yang and smiled at how peaceful she looked, she sighed softly. A single tear falling down her face

"I'm sorry, Yang"

The next morning they repeated the cycle although Yang showed concern when she saw the look on Blake's face, she was exhausted

"Why don't you go and get some rest?"

Blake jumped that was the first time Yang had spoke directly to her since they reunited, she shook her head "I'm ok" Blake sat on a chair and began to draw once more. It was a picture of Blake watching as Yang lived with her wife and child being happy. Blake cried, she wanted Yang to be happy but she was never going to be happy with her. Yang glanced over and saw Blake crying but decided to leave it, despite the fact she wanted to. Blake soon fell asleep, Yang sized the opportunity to take a peak at the drawings in her sketch book. Yang smiled at her early ones, they all depicted team RWBY but closer to the fall of Beacon, Yang saw a change. Most of them stained with tears, Yang's heart wrenched at the ones of her hurting Blake and felt guilty at the one of Blake saying sorry to Yang with a menacing looking Adam watching them. But Yang looked at her most recent and tears fell down her face, Blake looked so broken and dejected with a single Lily in her hand watching on as Yang played with her daughter and wife of the future. Yang felt so guilty at how she had treated Blake, she looked down at her ex-partner and winced as she saw the bruise that was caused by her yesterday. She crouched down and placed the book down before gently pulling the hair out of Blake's face, which was tear stained. Blake's eyes opened and she looked directly at Yang's which were filled with care and love like they once were. She sat up cautiously and picked up her sketch book, she quickly scribbled and handed the page to Yang. She stood up and hugged her but quickly pulled away once she realised what she was doing

"Sorry"
she walked away and began to eat the food that Yang had made last night, Yang looked at the picture and smiled at the detail Blake put in it despite it being quick. She walked over to Blake "hey" Blake stood up and looked at Yang "yeah?" Yang smiled "come here" she opened her arm out and Blake hesitantly hugged her "is this ok?" Yang nodded pulling her near "yes...I've got you Blake, you won't be alone" Yang felt a wetness on her neck, she craned her head and saw Blake crying "I don't deserve to have someone like you Yang...not after what I've done" she hugged her tighter "it'll take some time for me to forgive you but I believe we can makes thing work between us" they pulled away and Yang saw the hopeful look in Blake's eyes "I saw your sketch book...all those pictures did you really think that?" Blake's eyes dulled "yeah...I just want to be a part of your life, but I was-am scared that one day you would forget me" she turned away "I never forgot about you, y'know...everyday I found something that reminded me of you and that hurt...I abandoned you and was too much of a coward to come and face you" she wrapped her arms around herself "those pictures kept me sane...some even gave me hope but that was before I realised that you would hate me and never talk to me if we ever met again, I expected you to punch me, to scream at me, anything! But your tone, that cut me and frankly I deserve it" Yang hugged Blake "you don't deserve that...I won't forget about you and that I promise" Blake turned around and untied her bow before tying her ribbon on Yang's intact arm "just so you don't" Blake smiled and hugged her. Yang smiled and kissed the top of her head "come on, let's go and get team RWBY back together" Blake nodded and they left.

5 years later

Blake watched from afar as Yang played with her child, bright lilac eyes and dark hair. Yang was so happy, Blake stood with a lily in her hands and smiled gently "I knew you'd forget about me Yang...and that's ok" she watched as Yang's wife came out and kissed her. Blake saw Zwei who was a much older dog now walk over to her, she bent down and handed him a book and the Lily "give these to Yang" he nodded and walked off. Blake stood and watched as Yang took what was in his mouth and flipped through the pages, she turned towards Blake who simply waved and began to walk away. Yang took off running, shouting her name, they both stopped and looked at each other "Blake..." Blake smiled "hello Yang" Yang had tears in her eyes "please don't...don't leave me" Blake walked over to Yang and cupped her cheek "you don't need me Yang...besides you seem happy, I don't want to ruin that, so this is our final goodbye" Yang cried as she hugged Blake "I didn't forget about you" Blake smiled "I know" She looked at Blake, they parted and Blake began to walk away "where will you go?" Blake shrugged "I don't know" Yang collapsed to her knees "stay with me" she looked at the ribbon on her arm "I love you"
