Normally who cares about new students? It's their job to figure out how to fit in, where to go, what to do. All you have to do is be nice so they don't have a horrible first day. I know how it feels to be the new kid - I've done that. So of course I was polite to new student names Maxine. I showed her the right place in the textbook. I smiled. Okay, I didn't give her my extra slide when we were looking at bacteria, but I let her have the good microscope, the one without a crack on the lens.
And she smiled back at me. She seemed nice. But now I'm not sure. All because of the nasty notes.
Writing and reading have been two of my FAVOURITE things for as long as I can remember. I've always of paper and pens as my friend LOL! Not anymore. Now they're my enemies. Enemies in the form of nasty notes. The question is WHO made them my enemies. That's where the new girl comes in. The ugly notes all started after she came to our school. Besides, there's something about her I don't trust. Here's what I know about her :
-Maxine is very stylish and careful about her
Hair, her fingernails, and her clothes. She moved here from Los Angeles, and she's always name- dropping movie stars are her friends yeah right, 😒.
-She's in 6th grade too, but she looks and acts more like an 8th grader. She says that's because she's "sophisticated" and we're all hicks. At first it seemed like no one was good enough to be her friend. Then she zeroed in on the one girl she thought was cool enough to hang around with.
