Growing up is difficult in a small town. Every mistake you make, makes is around town in days. As a thirteen year old girl, Ariel was already the town whore. Her father left when she was little; her mom was a drunk. She is your normal white trash who didn't even have a chance.
On October 4th 2011, Ariel went to her boyfriends house for a party. She has been dating him for a while now. His name was Nate. What Nate forgot to add to the invitation was there was gonna be only 2 people at that party. She went over to his house thinking they were going to watch a movie. Little did she know what Nate had planned.
Ariel had it bad growing up, and she was still a kid; she wasn't ready for that step. She promised herself she wouldn't ever be like her mom. She made a promise to herself; sex before marriage was not an option. So on December 22nd, it was a huge suprise that she was pregnant.
She had no friends; she had nobody to back her up. She was so scared and confused. She started thinking about suicide. That would mean that she had 2 dealths on her hands now.She couldn't, she had to be strong.
Nate was a good guy; when she told him, he proposed. Ofcoarse, she loved him; she doesn't want to think that her life is over already at the age of 13.
Nate knew what he wanted, her. He was two years ahead of her and he had time to think long and hard about what he was going to do. He knew he loved her and he knew she loved him; poor guy wasn't expecting her to say no.
What was she supposed to say? Yes? She didn't want that. She wasn't ready and neither was he. He was 15 and very intelegent he could get a good job at the snap of a fingure. He could take care of her and the baby. The only problem was, she wanted to be a normal teenage girl. All she wanted was to be like all the other girls at her school when all they have to worry about it grades and boyfriend issues. She was so tired of wondering. Wondering what or even if shes having dinner. Wondering if she made the right choice saying no to nate. Wondering what life wouod be like if she'd never even met him.
Ariel, didn't even plan to say no. She was thinking with her head for too long and finally started thinking with her heart. She didn't want this for herself..
She was worried what Nate would say if she told him the reason. She was scared he'd think she was too selfish. Although, they both know she has every right to be in this situation. Nate is definitly not gonna just forget he has a kid; Nate wants to be in his babys life.
It took a while to wrap his head around but he cane to the conclussion that he has to let Ariel go because thats what she deserves. He obviously doesnt want to loose his baby.
The night she told him he has already started dreaming about.. If it was a boy, them playing catch in the front yard talking about his sons forst crush. If it's a girl.. he dreamed of him giving her away to the love of her life.
Nate was always thinking, it was his strong suit. He would always think about stuff like that. Nate was a dreamer, too. But you already know that. He had big plans for his life; now the baby is coming its all being fkushed down the toilet. THATS WHAT HE THOUGHT ANYWAY.
Another reason Ariel left is because she did'bt want that for him. She didnt want to see him throw everythibg away to support them. She woukd find a way to support her and the baby perfectly before letting him give up on his dreams and plans. She loved him.
When she was a kid, her mom would always tell her, "Child the lord has plans for you I can see it. Theres a shining light at the end of this tunnel. Just you wait and see." She was a wise woman, you know, until she went crazy. Ariel thought, "If only the woman who told me that for so many years was still in there, maybe she would know what to do.
A few months go by and she starts to show. Only 5 more months until she pops out a baby girl. Yes, shes terrified but inside shes also excited to be a mom. The few months of thinking have really settled into her. She says "Maybe ny baby girl is the one big thing I had missing in my life." She started feeling happy all the time; she even started coming up with names.
One day, 6 months into her pregnancy, Nate knocks on her door. He tells her he misses her and he cant live without her and the baby. He tells her he has a job now and an apartment. He dropped out of school so that he could work full time supporting his family. Ariel secretly loved hearing him call her and their baby his family. For the first time in many months, Ariel was sad. There was a long moment of silence before anyone spoke. Nate could see it was hurting her, whatever she was thinking about. She sat down, put a smile on her face opened her mouth and said... "I love you so much Nate James Wangcraft, you didn't have to do this for me; for us. Although, I am very very greatful."
Ariel had planned for months something that would let everybody free. On October 27th 2012, Ariel had given birth to a beautiful baby girl who she names Shelby Kay Wangcraft. Not much longer, mid-november, Ariel left. She left the baby with Nate along with a note that their daughter would someday frame and keep on the wall of her room. The note said... "Nate I know you will be a wonderful father and keep our baby girl safe. I may come back one day and apologize for leaving. You have to understand that I can't stay here. Maybe I'm just like my dad in that way. Speaking of, I have tracked him down and I'm gonna go start a new life over with him. Its a fresh start in a new town with new people. I hooe you twll Shelby that I love her so very much and one day I will be ready to meet her. Raise her good like I know you will, okay?
