I recall a time
When we would play together.
Reckless and naïve
We would walk around
Aimlessly, and simply talk
About many things.
Bittersweet feelings
Over-run my thoughts as I
Try to remember.
The times we would
Chase eachother around the
School, feeling happy.
There was that time when
You played as my guardian.
I fell for you then.
Then summer came, and
We never saw eachother.
The fun at a close.
School came back quickly.
I will never forget how
I felt that first day.
Curiosity
Took over any sadness.
Where were you today?
A friend wanted to
Sit next to an empty desk
That would have been yours.
What happened to you?
It's been a week and you're still
Not coming to school.
They say that you moved.
A possibility, since
Grade four had started.
Days to weeks to months.
Six years since I last saw you
And when we last talked.
I wonder if you
Still remember the time spent
At Twelfth Avenue?
Even if you don't
Remember me, I don't think
I will forget you.

First Love
PoetryA poem for a friend who left my life years ago. I feel guilty that I never said a proper goodbye. Basically a haiku medley (I think/hope) mashed together into some kind of story.
