{Hallo, my name is Myles, and this is my first WattPad story! Okay, so basically: My friend, Nhi, and I were texting and she mentioned that she --and I quote--"would be sooo prepared for an apocalypse." and that she "would totally last for, like, hella months" She then plunged into deep thought on exactly what extensive materials and supplies she might need for this uprising and started drafting some excape plans...[xD] Needless to say, she was the inspiration for this story. But before you start reading, a message: I WARN YOU NOW. I HAVE UTTERLY NO IDEA WHERE THIS IS GOING. AT ALL. ALSO, SINCE I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION: THIS STORY IS RATED T FOR TEEN DUE TO IMPENDING GORE. ENJOY. -C}

.....

I woke up sprawled on the gritty sand of a beach, salty water stinging the gashes and cuts all over my body. Which beach, I couldn't be certain. All I could remember was the yacht...intoxicating drinks...then darkness. I blurry face swam in my memory. That face became clear almost immediately, as my best friend's likeness appeared in my mind. I bolted upright, immediately regretting it due to the wave of nausea that followed my sudden movement, and scanned my surroundings. There was a forest behind me; beach stretching out in front of me and to my sides for miles. A dock sprouted out from between the dense, tropical trees and foliage behind me. My curiosity disappeared when I spotted a black haired lump a few feet away from me. I was halfway to her before I realized I had gotten up. There she was, unconscious, clothes ripped to shreds, multiple cuts and bruises on her body. Nhi, my Nhi, was lying unconscious on the beach. I shook her shoulder. Nothing. Blinking back tears, I shook harder, just to be answered with a quiet sloshing sound. I bit back my sobs as I racked my brain for what to do. Remembering something from a lifeguard class I was taking back home (before this happened, whatever "this" was), I rolled her over, hooked my arms around her waist, and squeezed firmly, just below her zyphoid process. After what seemed like a millennium, a sighing sound escaped her lips and some sea water splashed out of her mouth. "Nnnngh..." came her hoarse, whispering voice. She rolled over so that she was facing me, studied my face as she came out of her unconscious stupor. Her eyes widened and brimmed with tears. We interlocked in a tight hug. "Ughhh...you're hugging me too tight...I think I'm going to-" She shakily dashed to a huge boulder that was nearby and vomited up what seemed like half the ocean, holding an arm out to steady herself. I rushed over to her, as she sank to the sandy ground. "Woah! Easy there, Nhi. You just puked up, like, a gallon of the Ocean..." She made a disgusted face and shuddered. "Ugh. I still taste sea water. She eyed me, scrutinizing every inch of me. "Your right arm is cut, bad. You also need some new clothes, maybe stiches..." she trailed off as she craned her neck around, surveying the scene for the first time. I looked down at my ripped up moss colored v-neck and skinny jeans that were revealing a bit too much for my taste. My Doc Martin's seemed like they had survived fine, despite water damage. I looked up to find Nhi fingering the ripped strands of her shirt. "My brother gave me this shirt on my sixteenth birthday." I watched as a tear trailed down her cheek, dripping onto her exposed thigh. "Don't worry. We can save it...and we can save us too. We're gonna find a way out." I said, resting my hand on her shoulder. "What even happened? I-I can only remember a falling sensation...then darkness." She replied. I met her question with silence, since that was the only thing from the trip I remembered as well. Clearing my throat, I stood, my hand on my semi-sliced waistband. I strained to see into the distance, which was shrouded in fog. "Nhi...do you think the rest of the group is over there?" I pointed to the foggy area, shivering. "It looks hella creepy over there..." My question was met with silence. "Nhi?" I turned back towards her to find an empty space and a small indentation in the sand where she was just sitting. "Nhi?" I called. No answer. "Nhi!?" I called again, this time a bit more urgently. "Huh?" Her head popped up from behind the boulder and she shimmied from behind it, modeling a haphazardly weaved grass skirt. She had tied her ripped T-shirt into a bandeau top and was adjusting it around her bra. I chuckled as she moved on to her hair, twisting it back into a half up-do. "How can you manage to do all that," I gestured at the makeshift clothes and Hawaiian-inspired updo. "Merely ten minutes after coming out of a coma?" She chuckled. "I dunno! It's funny because..." She trailed of as she looked ahead, straining to make out the blurry silhouette in the distance. I ignored the metallic taste in my mouth. "Yeah...let's move on. We need to find Natasha." I started walking, Nhi matching my stride. "So...I didn't know you had abs?" She said, smiling, as she poked my taut stomach. I smiled sheepishly, feeling my cheeks burn crimson. "Oh, yeah, that happened...Volleyball and Swimming really took me out of my previously lanky state." She laughed. Despite our stranded situation, she found laughter. That was why we were so compatible with each other. I stopped walking, fingering the ragged ends of my sleeve. "Nhi," I put my hands on her shoulders. "No matter what we see, if we even see anything, we can do this together. She shrugged put of my grip and playfully punched my in the arm. "Oh please, I'm not some squeamish girl, okay. You know this, I love gore!" I snickered half-heartedly. "Yeah but it might be a but different when it's real..." She shrugged and cocked her head thoughtfully. "Yeah, okay, I suppose you're right. But what if our friends are okay? What if they went into the town we saw to get help..." She trailed of as we came to the yacht, or, at least what used to be the yacht. It looked as though it had hit a huge, jagged rock from the side. It was leaned over the side of the boulder, sharp spires jutting through the opposite side of the aquatic vehicle. As we got closer, I saw that there was dark crimson liquid dripping from the spikes. My throat became dry and my heartbeat quickened. "Nhi...I think we've survived something horrible..." A small gasp escaped her lips, and her face shone pale and slightly green in the light of the sunset. "Yeah...but we're are the other, um, bodies?"
