Pisces' Burden

Deep in the ocean's abyss,

I am a creature you cannot miss,

A creature, two in one,

A creature who dreams of sun.

I dream of the earth and the air,

And of the fire's flare,

Dreary from too much sleep,

Lonely in the ocean's deep.

As I float up near the water's surface,

I'm halted as a barrier hits my face,

Unable to continue,

I push my hands threw.

I feel the air wrap my hands and fingers,

Then a strong feeling lingers

As I focus on the red sun in the air,

Yearning to be out there.

I shed unseen tears and cry,

Wishing deeply to reach the sky,

So close, but far from touch,

But, it is disappointment

For dreaming too much.
