Hey Guys! Ok, Here's my first book and I'm a bit apprehensive as to what y'all think of it, so if you comment, please be nice, but at the same time, give me constructive criticism! Actually guys, do comment, cos I'm literally bursting to find out how you guys like it.
Chapter 1
Freedom. Sam had finally escaped from the small, smelly apartment, and his crazy father- if only for a few minutes. He ran nimbly down the rickety ladder, making a beeline for the park. He casually ran a hand through his black, wind- whipped hair, amber eyes burning with anticipation, like licks of flame, dancing to his heartbeat. Even though he didn't blame anyone for his being stuck indoors all day, a part of him was relieved to be away from everyone and everything else right now. Sam strolled around the park, absorbing the fantastic views, sniffing the freshness of the air, until his nose picked up the indistinct whiff of smoke. The now pungent smell nagged at something in Sam's memory, and, ever curious, his nose led Sam to the source of the thick, dark smoke.
Sam ran to the fire as soon as he saw it, determined to put it out somehow, freezing dead in his tracks when he heard the voices.
"Come on! Please Efwa, I can stop this in no time! Look at all this beautiful forest that's being destroyed, you hard-hearted..." the rest of the speech trailed off into a long string of outraged obscenities directed at 'Efwa'. Suddenly, another voice sounded above the sizzling and crackling of the flames.
"Calm, Justin, I can sense them now- yes, they're listening to this very conversation."
Chapter 2
"Hello? Anyone there?" Justin's voice had changed from cocky and impatient to apprehended and... excited?
Taking a deep breath, Sam crept closer, anxious not to be seen. He was just about to take another step, when something glinted to the side of his eye.
