Ok people here is a new chapter, I can't believe that I have updated twice this week, I hope everyone enjoys this chapter don't forget to vote and comment.

Chapter 35

I rolled over and realized I was in bed dressed in a pair of pajama pants and a tank top.  How did I get in bed and who changed my clothes.  I got out of bed and went into the bathroom, using it, washing my hands and brushing my teeth. 

After I was finished I slipped on my slippers and picked up my phone and called the realtor.  I explained that I didn’t want to sell my condo that I was moving back into it as soon as possible. 

Unfortunately for me my condo has already been sold I would have to find me a new home, so I headed downstairs.  Just as I was about to step down the first step I hear a lot of voices and they were very angry voices.  I stood there a moment not wanting to go down

Instead I walked down about four steps and I could hear them having a scream fest.  I heard Kevin’s father, my father and my mother.  Kevin must be home.

“Kevin of all the dumb things you could do you missed your own engagement party.  Do you know how Nikki felt?  Better yet do you even care how she feels?  I thought I raised you to be a man, not a fool.”

“Son I tell you I have always been proud of you and your accomplishments, but what you did last night really had me angry.  Not to mention your poor mother.  She was so embarrassed because you never showed up and didn’t have the courtesy to call your fiancé or even your parents.”

Kevin just sat there with his head in his hands not saying a word.  I wonder if he would say anything at all.  They all just stood and watched him waiting for him to say something. Hell I was even waiting for him to explain where he had been all night and not so much as a phone call.  This had better be good.

“If you all would just stop yelling I will tell you where I was last night.  I was at the office trying to finish up to get home and Payton offered to help me.  We started talking we had ordered take out and I had some Cognac and we sipped with our dinner. 

“Payton was getting a little tipsy so I told her I would drive her home because I didn’t want her to get pulled over or hurt herself or someone else. I looked at my watch it was it was 6:15 and Payton lives about 15 min from the office so I still had enough time to get home.”

“I walked her to her door to be sure she made it in ok and I turned around to leave and she called my name and when I turned to see what she wanted she was only wearing her bra, her garter belt and panties.

“I didn’t know what to do I asked her to put her clothes back on because I had to get home for my engagement party.  The truth is Payton and I have been involved with each other for the last month or two.  I was going to break it off last night, and when she pulled me in for a kiss, well I just didn’t try to fight it.  I gave in and that’s why I didn’t make it to the party last night.”

Wait did I just hear him say he and his assistant have been having a relationship?  No…that’s not what I heard; it can’t be. When I heard his father tell him how stupid he has been and then my father tell him he should kill him, well I knew what I heard was for real.

I just sat there stunned; I couldn’t think I couldn’t breathe tears poured from my eyes and I was hurt.  I was hurt cause he didn’t have the decency to call me at all during the party to say he wouldn’t be there or he didn’t want to be there.  Now I was pissed off.

My mother walked out into the foyer with tears in her eyes, and there I sat looking at my mother still unable to breathe she looked around and ran up the stairs calling my father.
