Thank you po to all who have read, voted and liked my first two "one-shot" stories.

Dahil sa feedbacks, I was inspired to work on another one.

This is about Janina's ex bf Jake. I believe he deserves to share his story.

I looked at my cp and sighed.

Si Alyssa. Napalitan pa rin pala ang ringtone ng cp ko kahit na sinabi ko nang wag pakialaman.

"Yes, Alyssa?" Alyssa's one of our college interns although she's a year younger than me. Maaga syang nag-aral at nakapagtapos sa impluwensya na rin ng mga magulang na parehong nasa architectural field.

"I just want to ask if you'll drop by tonight?"

"No, I can't. It's Friday, I'll..." she cut me mid-sentence.

"..be seeing that Janina. Yeah right! I am getting tired of this, Jake. Akala ko ba ako ang mahal mo. Why do I always have to give-way?"

"Alyssa, alam mo naman ang sitwasyon ko di ba? And yes, I do love you. Just give me more time, please."

I heard her sob, "Sorry, I didn't mean to pester you. Hindi ko maiwasang magselos eh."

"Com'on, Yssa, you know fairly well na wala na akong nararamdaman for her. But I can't throw everything her way lalo na ngayon na alam kong nahihirapan din sya sa pinasok nyang career. Just give me few more weeks. I just need to make sure she's settled. That she'll be fine. Please, love?"

"Sorry, Jake. I understand. Just take care. I'll be seeing you on Monday." she ended the call.

I had to fix my phone setting now bago pa may ibang makarinig ng ringtone ko.

Tuesday, following week

"Oh hijo, pasok ka. Nasa taas si Nina kadarating lang." magiliw ang pagsalubong sa'kin ni Tita Nerry.

Lalo akong kinakain ng konsensya ko. Hindi ko naman ginusto na umabot sa punto na lolokohin ko si Janina.

"Hijo, galing ka ba ng school? Maupo ka at ipapatawag ko si Nina." si Tito Joel na kasalukuyang nanonood ng PBA sa salas.

Umupo ako sa kanang single sofa at kunwaring nakinood ng palabas kahit ang totoo malayo ang takbo ng isip ko. Narinig kong ipinatawag ni tito sa katulong si Nina.

Today is supposed to be our 10th year anniversary. Pero imbes na ma-excite sa tagal na inabot ng relasyon namin, my guilt is eating me. Dahil ngayong araw ding ito sana ang 2nd monthsary namin ni Alyssa.

You see, Nina has been my steady girlfriend since I was in highschool. Ours was a legal relationship - with her parents' and my mom's blessing.

I was 14 when we transferred in this area. My dad died of car accident and we had to give up everything we used to own. My mom and I were left with only my dad's insurance so we had to cut our cost of living.

I met Nina during my first week here when I joined the SK Sportsfest and was appointed as the captainball.

I instantly fell in-love with her bubbly and charming personality. Courted her for two months, I think, and became her official boyfriend.
