❝So basically what you're telling me is that you can't love?❞ he asked Roslyn as he stood a good few feet away from her against the wall across from her, his lips wrapped around a cigarette as he made love to it, before exhaling through his nose. She shook her head as they both stared at each other intensively. 

❝It's not that I can't love; I can. It's just that I don't want to get so caught up in something, in someone and then it all be over. I don't want to be so attached and then they leave me either by choice, or maybe even not. I just don't want to go through that painful heart break.❞ As Roslyn spoke, he pathed his way closer and closer toward her. 

❝But what if someone makes you change that pretty little mind of yours?❞ he asked, his accent visible as a smirk was set plastered on his face. Roslyn felt a mischievous grin plant itself on her own face.

❝I doubt it. Like I said, I don't want to love, and so I won't. I guess I'm just fearful of trepidation.❞

But what nobody knew was that Roslyn has secrets. Secrets from the past that haunt her, and thoughts and feelings of trepidation. And so, will her predictions on love prove her wrong? Or was she right all along?
