What is The House Of Night?

For those of you who haven't read the House of Night series, here is a dictionary and a recap! :) (MAJOR SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT READ THE BOOKS)

Fledgling: A teenager with the sapphire blue outline of a half crescent moon on their forehead. They spend 4 years making the change into a adult vampire, or they die.

Nyx: The vampyre goddess

Raven Mockers: evil creatures that are half human and half raven, the sons of Kalona, fallen warrior of Nyx

   Zoey Redbird was marked at the age of 17. Her step-loser was one of the People of Faith and had her mom wrapped around his finger. After they refused to take her to The House of Night, knowing she could die if not around adult vampyres, Zoey ran away to her Grandma Redbird's, knowing she would help.
   When Zoey arrived at her grandmothers lavender farm, Grandma Redbird is not home, so she goes to look for her and falls and hits her head. After hitting her head, Zoey expirences a out of body experience and meets the vampyre goddess Nyx, who tells her she is special. When she wakes up, the half moon outline on her forehead is now colored in, which only happens after completing the change. (After you complete the change, your mark gets colored in and saphyre blue marks frame your face and cheekbones)
   Her grandma found her unconscious and marked and brought her to the house of night where the first person she met was a vampire named Netfret. Netfret was a beautiful adult vampyre with long red hair, and a motherly personality, she was also High Priestess of Nyx. She instantly became Zoeys mentor.
   After meeting Netfret, the first Fledgling Zoey had the pleasure of meeting was Aphrodite. The mayors daughter (the house of night is in Tulsa.) Aphrodite is greatly gifted by the Goddess with visions of the future, of horrible events. She is also the queen B, leader of the Dark Daughters (biggest group at school) gorgeous, blonde and a hateful bitch and slut.
   After meeting her, and strongly disliking her, Zoey meets her roommate Stevie Rae. Stevie Rae has short blonde curls and is totally country! She has a strong accent and hates Aphrodite and they become immediate friends.
Stevie Rae introduced Zoey to her friends. The first was Damien, he was really smart and sweet and yes he was 100% gay. Next were the twins, Shaunee and Erin. Shaunee was a beautiful black girl from Connecticut, and Erin was pretty with blonde hair and blue eyes. They were in no way related, but practically shared a brain (and shoe size, fashion was there thing. Besides boys) their cat even chose both of them! (A cat chooses their fledgling or vampire, they are close to the goddess and can never really be 'owned' but were free to roam anywhere in the school).
   Zoey became fast friends with all of them, and soon meets Erik Night, a upper class fledgling who is gifted in acting and drama. He is the hottest, most popular guy in the school, and thinks Zoeys colored in mark is cool. Did I mention he is Aphrodite's ex?
   Erik and Zoey instantly connect, but Zoeys ex from her human life is not ready to say goodbye. Heath is human, and star quarterback, and lately has been a big party animal. He's been in love with Zoey since 3rd grade, and always knew he would marry her some day. Apparently her changing into a vampyre didn't change his mind at all.
   Not long after being marked, Zoey finds that she has special powers, given to her by Nyx. And these aren't just any powers, she holds the power of the 5 elements. The most gifted vampyre or fledgling in all of history. A vampyre a long time ago held the power of 4 elements, but it is a honor to even hold 1.
   Zoey believes she is meant to use her powers against Aphrodite, who is hiding her visions of humans dying from Netfret.
   Zoey also experienced death at the house of night. A nice girl she met named Elizabeth No Last name (you can change your name when your marked, and her last name was Titsworth, ams she didn't want to think of a different last name). Elizabeth complimented her on her colored in mark (that all the other kids stared at), and died in another class just hours later.
    The first kid she watched die with her own eyes was Elliott. He was a chubby rude redhead, who was always sleeping in class and annoyed just about everybody. In the middle of class, he started coughing really bad until bright red blood came up. Netfret made him drink something for the pain and they hauled him out of the room on a stretcher.
    When someone dies, you are expected to just move on. It could happen to anyone, whether you are a 3rd Former or a 6th Former (Freshmen-Senior).
    Zoey sees what she believes is the ghost of Elizabeth, expect she is different. She is pale and skinny and smells bad like dry blood(did I mention, aside from Zoeys freaky mark and insane powers, she experiences bloodlust extremely early, as only a 3rd former, when most fledgling are considered early to experience it as even a 5th former), and with glowing red eyes. The second sighting was Elliott, who was just as gross undead. He actually threw Zoeys cat Nala, who attacked him, which made her start thinking maybe he wasn't just a ghost.
    Soon Zoey takes down Aphrodite, after Aphrodite goes to far and summon Ancient Vampyre ghosts who almost eat Heath (who is imprinted with Zoey from drinking her drinking his blood in a majorly hot way). And Zoey is officially dating Erik Night as well.
   After taking down Aphrodite, Zoey became Leader of the Dark Daughters and earned new marks covering her face and neck and shoulders (vampyres have only ever been marked on their face). Nyx also gift each of Zoeys friends with an element. Stevie Rae held Earth. Damien held Air. Shaunee Fire and Erin Water.
    Knowing that she had enough boy problems between Heath and Erik (who weren't very fond of each other), she started falling for a teacher, Vampyre Poet Laurent, Loren Blake. A sexy, newly changed vampyre with the gift of poetry.
   Soon Zoey starts noticing a change in her Mentor and mother figure, Netfret. Its not long before she catches on that Netfret is not as she seems, and nobody else knows except Aphrodite. Vamps can pick up small parts of s fledglings mind, and Netfret is a better physic than most, however she cannot read Zoeys or Aphrodite's mind.
   Zoey and Aphrodite become fast, secret, friends, trying yo find out what Netfret was up to. In the process, each of zoeys friends are gifted with a element. Damien is air, Shaunee is Fire, Stevie Rae is earth, and Erin is water. The same day Nyx gives them they new gifts, Stevie Rae rejects the change and Zoeys best friend and roommate does in her arms.
  Its not long until Zoey finds the creepy undead red fledgling Stevie Rae, and her sweet innocent friend turned into a monster who is barely holding onto her humanity because of her hold on earth.
   Nyx herself appeared to Zoey and Aphrodite and told them that Netfret turned away from her, and was listening to the voice of Kalona. Kalona was Nyxs warrior, and his brother Erebus was her Consort. Jealousy got the best of Kalona, and he fell from Nyx's Realm.
   At first, Kalona was welcomed as a God on Earth. Woman three their self's at him and worshipped him because of his dark wings and terrible beauty. But eventually, the woman grew tired of him, and turned away (no one wants a man hoe, no matter how hot).
   Kalona soon became obsessed with woman, and their bodies. He became obsessed with sex, even if he had to take it by force. The woman he raped became pregnant, and most birthed dead things, that were not babies. The few the survived, were half human and half raven, made of hate and evil, and became the Raven Mockers and sons of Kalona.
   Some old Cherokee woman, elders, decided to do something about his evil. They created a maiden, from the dirt and breathed life into her, her soul was created just for Kalona. They called her A-ya.
   When Kalona first set eyes on A-ya, she was singing in the stream. Instantly, he knew he must have her, and chased her into a cave. Now Kalona is a God, a creature of the skies, he is not meant to go inside the earth, but he does. When he finally embraces A-ya, she turns to dirt and her soul leaves, leaving Kalona trapped in her embrace forever. Until Netfret hears him.
   One night, Zoey looses her virginity to her teacher Loren, and imprints with him, breaking her imprint with Heath. Erik walks in on them and dumps zoey on the spot.
   That same night, evil undead Stevie Rae tries to eat Aphrodite (who is somewhat working on being nice, and is in love with Sons of Erebus Warrior Darius.) And Aphrodite "gives" her mark to Stevie Rae, leaving her human (with visions still) and Stevie Rae changed as the first Red Vampyre (reclaiming her humanity).
    And to complicate things even more, Stark, a 6th former transfer student, has a connection with Zoey. He is greatly gifted but looks at it as a curse. Stark is an Archer, who never misses his aim. The problem is, he shoots whatever he thinks about, no matter where at in the world.
   Stark also doesn't have a cat, he prefers dogs and has a big sweet Lab named Duchess. Him and Zoey connect immediately, than Stark rejects the change and dies in her arms.
    Of course, Stark comes back as an evil undead red fledgling, the same night Netfret frees Kalona and his Raven Mocker Babies. Zoey and her Nerd Herd escape to the tunnels under Tulsa, leaving Stark and the school behind to hell on Earth.
   When they do finally return to the school, along with Stevie Rae and the red fledglings who have now been outted, that find that Kalona and Netfret have the House of Night under their spell. Everyone believe that Kalona is Erebus, Nyx's Consort.
   Soon Zoey saves Stark, reimprints with Heath, and makes Kalona and Netfret free, after leaning that she is A-ya reincarnated. Stark gives Zoey his warrior bound oath and becomes her knight for life.
   While on a trip to the high council, to convince everyone of Netfrets true evil, Zoey watches Kalona kill Heath with his bare hands and her soul shatters. Their was only one time in history when a High Prietess soul shattered, so was trapped in Nyx's realm and her and her warrior (who tried to save her) both died.
   Zoey remained in a coma like state, but her soul was with Heath in Nyx's realm, refusing to let go of him. Stark almost does just to go and bring Zoey back, but heartbreakingly they could not save Heath.
   Zoeys friend Erin, and Shaunees twin, starts leaning towards darkness. Netfret cause Erin to reject the change and doe, she also killed the Mayor (Aphrodite's dad) and Damien's sweet boyfriend Jack.
   Kalona starts turning away from Netfret, realizing he still loves Nyx, and Netfret imprints with the White Bull (ancient magic, the black bull is good and the white bull is evil). As a gift from the White Bull, he creates a vessel for Netfret, a creature made of pure darkness, made to be controlled by Netfret.
   But Netfret gift was flawed. She had to offer the White Bull a pure offering. Someone with strong magic. The perfect person was Zoeys grandmother Redbird, but instead Zoeys mother was the one there so they took her life instead, which caused the gift to be flawed.
   Netfret gift was a man, who could turn into a bull, called Aurox, but because he was flawed, he held Heaths soul. Eventually, Aurox turned away from Netfret, Kalona turned good and became a teacher, and Zoey and the Nerd Herd completed the change to adult vampyres, but what happens after?
