Trying To Be Popular

Prologue

"Jaxon, I really am sorry," I said looking into the chocolate, brown eyes of my boyfriend. Well ex-boyfriend now.

"Ash you can't do this to me, I didn't do anything wrong," Jaxon replied, the hurt obvious in his voice.

I looked at him, the creases on his forehead proved how anxious he is. Most people would give into this look, but not me. I knew better. I knew what he was doing the night before after I had left the party, and I had proof.

Jaxon's best friend, Ethan, had sent me the video. Watching it had made me tear up and need to run to the bathroom to save my mascara from dripping down my face.

I decided then and there that I would never trust a guy with anything precious to me ever again.

So here I was, standing in the middle of the cafeteria, dumping my boyfriend in front of everyone in the entire school.

"You didn't do anything wrong?" I asked, my voice gradually getting louder and angrier. I could feel the heat rising up from my neck into my face, making it flush a light red with anger. "Does this ring a bell?" I held up my phone and showed him the video that was sent to me earlier this morning.

The colour drained from Jaxon's face as he watched it. His hands started shaking and I could see sweat starting to roll down his forehead.

After the video finished I put my phone back in my purse, crossed my arms and looked at him waiting for an excuse or at least an reason why he would do something like that to me.

"Babe, I was drunk, none of that meant anything. You can't seriously be dumping me over a little mistake like that can you? Now can we please go and eat our lunch like a normal couple?" He reached out and and grabbed my arm to pull me towards the table that we normally sat at with all of our friends.

I pulled my arm out of his grip, turned and flipped my hair as I began to walk off. My friends got up of the table and followed me out of the cafeteria. When I reached the doorway I turned around and said, "We are over Jaxon, I hope you have fun without me." And with that I walked out without looking back.
