11:49 p.m.
I added red lipstick to compliment my makeup and tight black dress. I wouldn't put my heels on until I was safely outside my window. Lucky for me, my house only had one floor.
There's supposed to be some amazing party thrown by some guy that my best friend has been trying too hook up with from school tonight. I was not going to miss a party I was expected to attend just because my parents saw it fit to ground me.
It was now or never. I'm 99% sure my parents are sleeping, so I'm just going to take the risk and leave. I double checked that I have my phone and grabbed my red heels. Lifting up my window, I put my feet through first making sure not to make any noise. The rest of my body followed along with my shoes in hand.
I had to make sure that my window is unlocked because there was no way I would sneak back in through the front door. The grass feels cool against my feet as I half jog towards the street where my best friend is waiting in her car to pick me up.
"Get in the car Ella. We're already late because you decided to take your sweet time." she lectured me while speeding away from my house.
"Relax Zoe. The party will still be there when we arrive." I replied rolling my eyes.
"Whatever El." Zoe laughed as she turned up the radio.
----------
Loud music could be heard as we pulled up to the house. Drunk teenagers clumsily loitered the lawn. This is my type of party.
Zoe and I walked towards the house to include ourselves in the fun. I want to drink, but not get completely wasted. I also wouldn't mind a quick hook up since it's been awhile. The last hook up I had was with some random guy at a party, and he wouldn't stop calling me for the next couple of weeks. It was fun and all, but he was too clingy for me. I thought the girl was supposed to be that way.
Intoxicated teenagers clung to each other as they grinded and were practically having sex on the dance floor. There were smashed vases varying throughout the house. No one had really caught my eye, but I've seemed to have caught many others.
I turn to talk to Zoe when I realize she disappeared. She probably went to find that guy who she wouldn't shut up about.
I push my way through the crowds and into the kitchen to get some alcohol in my system. I spot a brunette guy that I've never seen before playing ping pong at the dinner table. It's weird that I've never seen him before because I know everyone from school. His smile is what mostly catches my attention. There's no way someone could have a naturally perfect smile like that.
"Ella!"
"Um, yes?", I replied as I turned around to face the person calling my name.
"Don't act like you don't recognize me! It's been awhile, but not that long."
I came to the realization that it was my friend Alex from Freshman year. We were super close until he had to transfer to another school. Apparently he got in a fight at school, and they expelled him on the spot for hospitalizing the guy.
"Alex! How could I forget you?" I tried to play it off, and it seemed to be working.
"It's been way too long! I assumed you were going to be here because you've always been the party type." Alex says as we embrace.
"Well you know, some things never change." I respond while winking.
"Let me introduce you to some people! This is my friend Kalin. He goes to the high school that I transferred to."
I avert my eyes to a tall guy standing next to Alex with tan skin and green eyes. I have no idea how I didn't notice him before. He is very attractive, but not really my type.
"Hi, it's nice to meet you." Kalin smiled.
"Hey, I'm Ella." I responded by returning a smile.
"I'd introduce you to my other friend, but I have no idea where he is at the moment." Alex said making me realize he was still standing here.
There was a loud yell coming from behind me. I turned my whole body to see the cute guy playing ping pong from earlier. Apparently he was the one who yelled "YEE".
"And that would be our friend Myles. As you can tell, he loves parties and I'm assuming he just won the ping pong game." Kalin came up right next to me and said near my ear.
"YO MYLES COME HERE!" I jumped at the sudden change in volume because Kalin was still next to my ear.
"Oh shit Ella I'm sorry. I forgot I was right by you." He apologized.
"It's all good. Don't worry about it."
I could see their friend Myles making his way towards us.
Ok Ella this is your chance. Don't say anything stupid in front of someone this cute.
"Hey what's up guys?" Myles wrapped his arms around Alex and Kalin's shoulders.
"This is my friend Ella. She's from my old school." Alex motioned towards me.
I just smiled with confidence and he wasted no time in transferring his arm over to my shoulders.
"Nice to meet you cutie." He whispered in my ear followed by a swig of whatever was in his red cup.
I'm assuming it was beer, because I could smell it on his breath afterwards.
I grabbed it from his hand and chugged the rest of it.
"Oh I like her!" Myles pulled me closer as he spoke to Alex and Kalin.
Tonight should be interesting.
