The party’s still booming, much to my dismay. The walls vibrate from the noise and as I go upstairs, the floor shakes. God, sorry neighbors. I walk to my room, the knob in my hand. My hand is about to twist when a warning comes through along with a chuckle, Heads up, and don’t freak out too much.
The door nonchalantly slides open, to be met with a pair of eyes. Oh my god, what the hell is he doing here?! He was laying on my bed when he looked at me. Those beautiful eyes, they’re so mesmerizing- no! Stop it Zarah! They’re just eyes, very very pretty ones. Wait, did I- dammit! I can’t concentrate…..
A smirk creeps on his face, “You done staring?” Now the blush is coming on, c’mon Z, focus. An amused voice speaks up, I got it. I feel the blush die down and my body move on its own accord. My lips move, “You were staring at me the exactly same amount of time. What you doing here?” He said he was just looking. “Mhmm sure, now who are you?” A pause of silence is interrupted, “Lethe Malkov. You have a nice place here Miss Caverly.”
Wait, Caverly! How does he know me! Relax, dear one, he can be trusted. Not that we need to tell him that of course .My lips are back in motion, “So why do you want to look around, Mr. Malkov?” “I saw a big party and wanted to take a look around”, He answered.
Lie, relayed in my head, I think you’ve calmed down enough now. I feel myself regain control of my actions now.
Any advice? You can trust him, but don’t let him know that you trust him yet. He has good reason to lie, remember that. I internally scoff as I reply, “Bullcrap.” His eyebrows rise, “Exactly how would you reckon that?” Crap, Aria ca-vocal tone changed slightly, she answered without skipping a beat. “Your vocal tone changed slightly when you said that.” He chuckles, “Quite the perceptive one I see. Not many can tell when I lie.”
“…why are you here?”, I questioned. He’s not gonna answer that. He can’t yet, Aria informed. Will you tell me? In a bit Zarah, she answered. While we were internally talking, there was an external silence between Lethe and I. It breaks through his words, “It’s been nice seeing you Miss Caverly.”
“Call me Zarah.”
He chuckles, “Alright then Zarah, until the next time.” If there was even going to be a next time. There will be a lot of next times, she says. He stands up and his eyes shift colors again. Looking me in the eye for a while, with them shifting colors unnaturally fast. His body moving closer to mine, he takes my hand, puts something on it and closes my hand. “Hold this dear,” he whispers and he leaves. I clench my fist bewildered, not daring to look at it. What would it do? Now your just acting stupid, Hold the damn thing dear, it’s more than special than you think. I’ll show you a trick to ensure you’ll never lose it, my friend informs.
My body moves at its own accord again, I look at the item. It’s a stone, dark blue with gold flecks. It’s Lapis Lazuli, its associated with inner power, truthfulness, openness, intuition, yet with a sense of wonder and mystery. It’s known to correlate with love. Lapis Lazuli is said to allow people to tap into our own inner pwer while purifying the soul and thoughts. Though that’s not what makes it special. It’s a soulstone. Soul stones are given through people connected through the soul. If one gives a soulstone but is not initially connected that person will form a deep bond with the receiver and vice versa. Other purposes for give a soulstone are to show that one is soulrelated to the other.
So why would he give me his stone? He’s not related to me is he? What’s soulrelated anyway?
Oh hush dear, I know you felt the pull just by looking in his eyes, you two are related. There are different kinds of soulrelation: Amicus, Familia, Amare. Familia consists of Soulsiblings and Soulparents. Amicus consists of Soulfriends. Amare consists Soulmates. There’s also Soulcompeers that are a mix of Amicus and Amare. Ari, what the hell do those mean, and which one is he? I’ll explain the rest when the time come, though Im pretty sure some of the names are self-explanatory and he’s your Soulmate.
Soulmate, as in my one and only?
While that’s normally the case, you’re special, you have a big soulfamily so to speak, so no. Now enough stalling, I going to show you the trick. My arm moves, my wrist in front of me and the hand holding the Lapis presses the stone to my other wrist and it melts into my body, leaving no trace that it was there.
What.
The.
Hell.
As long as your body has contact with the stone, you can do that, you wouldn’t want to lose something like that so this is helpful, she speaks. What happened to the stone? It’s within you, if you want it out it’s like an instinct. Just will it out, but I’d say that you should keep it, it’s something not to be mocked of. So who was that guy? I think you need to learn about you and Skyrieni. Lock the door and go to sleep Z, I’ll show you soon. I crawl into bed and shut my eyes.
When my eyes open, I’m in an old city. A really really old city, like BC old. A familiar voice permits the air, You are part of an ancient race now known as the forgotten. As the name suggests they are a forgotten race, they supposedly died out. Lethe is one of the forgotten and he knows it. Which is one of the reasons why he was lying. He also recognizes you as his mate, but he does no know you are one of the fellow forgotten, solely because your special. You practically scream human so he believes you are one and that’s the way you should want it to be. I know you don’t want attention so it would be best to stay “human” for awhile. Course that would mean having to not use your skills and talents. People melt into the city setting and I feel the urge to walk in a certain direction. Giving in, I follow my instincts. While walking I ask what talents and abilities for I’m extremely clumsy, unfit, and boring.
A melodic laugh echos around me, Oh little one, trust me when I say that when you trust your instincts, anything is possible, literally. I arrive at a destination, an arena similar to the famous Roman one. Walking inside I see soldiers training, they slowly melt away leaving nothing. Though, I feel her watching. My feet move just to take in the whole site. A lone hooded figure with a green scarf, the face is hidden in an impossibly dark shadow. Come to me Zarah. My feet pick up speed hesitantly and the person gets closer and closer. I stop a little ways from this person and ask, “Who are you?” He answers with a headvoice, I’m Micah, I’m here to teach you.
Zarah whispers, trust, in the wind.
I easily mastered what he taught but there was so much to cover, it took to long. The sun literally set and rose a few times. By the end of it all, I was sore, tired and felt like a bitch. I was nowhere where I wanted to be, then again that’s kinda impossible for me. I never reach my goals so quickly. I wake remembering the last words uttered, Tomorrow night I’ll teach more.
