“Finally, finally it’s done!” Talon stretched, putting the finishing touches on his assignment before heading to bed. Talon glanced at the clock ‘1:02am…, right, time to get a well-deserved sleep’ He thought to himself. As he jumped into bed he instantly fell asleep. As the room fell silent in the darkness, outside his window the trees danced in the soft howling wind with the moon creating dancing shadows. As one shadow out stretched creeping up along his bed, making its way to Talons throat it clamped its jagged hands around his neck. The moon grew and so to the shadow creating a stronger force. Cut off from breathing Talon flew up, gasping for air he fell out of bed holding his throat. The moons light flickered as the window flew open creating havoc in his room. Talon started to panic as his vision slowly started to burr. The door swung open and the lights turned on seeing his mother rush over to him. She clenched him as he was freed from the shadows grip.

Couple of days later had passed since the night terror.

“Talon help clean up the library. As punishment for skipping class!” An angry teacher scolded him.

“It’s not my fault your class is boring sir” Talon smart mouthed back.

“The art of flower arranging has beauty and great meaning behind it!” The teacher passionately said. “So go clean now! Shoo shoo.” The teacher gestured Talon away, Talon stuck his tongue out at his teacher then turned around and walked into the library.

‘Uh this is such a drag’ he thought to himself ‘I wonder if I can take a nap?’ He cheekily grinned and tip toed to the very back of the dusty library. The wood creaked with every step he took giving his position away to the old librarian. He gulped as he heard an old wheezy voice call out to him.

“Where do you think you’re going boy!” The cranky librarian held her hands out with a bucket and mop in each. “I expect you to be done by 4:00pm.” She walked over to Talon and shoved them in his hands. “Troublemakers like you shouldn’t lolly gag around, especially here after school.” She warned hobbling over to the library entrance and left.

“What exactly does that old hag mean? W-wait! Was she being nice to me? OH MY GOD! DID SHE LOOSE THE REST OF HER MARBLES!?” Talon gasped astonished as he started to prepare the cleaning solution.

Talon was done, The wooded floor was shining with perfection. Talon started to pat himself on the back for such a great job he did, he then heard a bang. Startled Talon walked to the one of the bookcases and saw a couple of books had fallen to the ground. He gasped. His heart sank to what he saw. He, he just couldn’t deal with what he saw.

“NO! THOSE STUPID BOOKS DIRTED THE FLOOR!” He grabbed the sides of his head while falling to the ground. He was broken. He clamped his hands, gritted his teeth and got up. He briskly walked over to the books and kicked them.

“Bloody dumb old books!” To his surprise they made a bigger mess, Dust and dirt skidded all down the hall. “W-what have I done, argh!” He fell back down to the ground in defeat.

“Great, I’m finally done....And it’s only 5:35pm….” Talon sighed in relief. He walked out of the library, down some stairs and was out on the school’s front oval. As he felt the cold winter wind blow on his body he got a shiver down his spin. Making him cringe up and he blurted out a sigh. He looked to his left, seeing a beautiful backdrop of the setting sun. Further down behind one of the blocks he could see an oddly out placed array of light. His instincts told him he shouldn’t, but his curiosity wanted him to seek out the adventure. Talon stopped in his tracks. He looked at the school entrance then back at the funny looking light show. He had decided. And ran straight to the back buildings of the school. As he ran to the demountables he heard a faint buzzing sound. It got intensely louder as he reached the Building. He clenched the handle. ‘Should I go in?’ He thought, ‘what happens if I stumble across some weird hentai re-enactment, or worse….A musical duet rehearsal!’ The thought made him quiver with disgust. But he started to open the door. ‘What? Why am I opening it? Stop it you fool! Don’t open it. But I want to know what’s behind it, the curiosity is killing me!’ Talon debated to himself, the facial expression he displayed looked like he needed to poop really badly.
