A fluffy AliceXTarrant oneshot.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters, though I wish I did, I do not.

"Tarrant?" Alice mumbles sleepily, rubbing her eyes.
"Over here, Alice." Tarrant says from his desk across the room. He hears her shuffle, getting up; then a pair of arms wrap around his neck. He turns to face Alice. The lovely girl who captured his heart the moment he saw her in Underland for the second time.
All he has to do next, is tell her.
"Morning, Tarrant." She says, stifling a yawn.
"Good morning, Alice. How was your sleep?"
"Well. I had the most peculiar dream about a man from Upperland; one of my father's friends."
"Oh? And what did this man do?"
"I do believe he was trying to sell me a cat." She says, laughing.
He laughs along with her, amused by her ever-so-silly dream.
"Tarrant, thank you again, for allowing me to stay with you." Alice says, softly, as if embarrassed.
"Do not worry about it at all, Alice. It is my pleasure to have you here, in the Hightopp house." He says, giving her one his famous mad grins.
"Well, I am going to get dressed and ready for tea."
"Of course."
She leaves the room, and he slumps into his chair holding his head.
'Oh, what am I to do? What am I to do?' He asks himself silently.
The door opens.
"Tarrant?" Startled; Hatter sits up, quickly picking up his toppled hat.
"Yes, Alice?" His electric green eyes meet hers for a moment before she hides behind a cloak of hair.
"I just wanted to ask you something." She says, suddenly so interested in her slippers.
"Well, go ahead, no time better than the present. Except maybe the past perhaps, but then of course we cannot go back in Time. He is such a cranky person and hates it when someone steps into him, I suppose I would as well, but seeing as it is his job, I don't-"
"Tarrant." She chimes, stopping his rant.
"Thank you." He says hoarsely.
"As I was saying; I was wondering if you would accompany me to the ball later tonight." She looks down at her feet almost nervously.
"Oh, yes! Of course I will, I mean, um. Yes, I would love to."
She smiles and looks up, her blue eyes sparkling.
"Thank you." She slips out of the room quietly.
Tarrant flops onto the bed rather ungracefully and closed his eyes.
Perhaps making a new hat would help; Or maybe some tea.
He gets up, and leaves the room.
What if I make a fool of myself? Well, contrary wise, 'tis impossible to do that seeing as I am rather mad, and mad people do tend to be foolish at best.
He sighs.
Perhaps I should just tell her?
"No, don't be absurd." He mutters aloud.

"Oof!" He exclaims, rubbing his head.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, Tarrant! I didn't see you there, are you quite alright? Oh, what am I saying? Of course you're not, I just attacked you with a door, oh I do beg your pardon, I-"
"Alice." He says, stopping her rambling for once.
"I'm sorry."
She says, taking a deep breath.
"My, I beg your pardon, Tarrant. That was very unlike me."
"And it was very like ME." He says, laughing.
"Indeed." She says, joining him.
"Well, shall we head to tea then, my dear?"
"Let's." she agrees.
Once outside, Tarrant gathers all his muchness, takes a deep breath, and says, "Alice?"
"Yes, Tarrant?" she turns to look at him.
"I love you." He blushes, but smiles, revealing his gap in his teeth, which Alice finds quite adorable.
"I love you too, Tarrant." She smiles at him.
She pecks him once on the lips, and walks off to join Thackery, and Mally at the table.
"Well that was indeed easier than expected." He mumbles before setting off to join his Alice and their friends.
His Alice. It sounds so beautiful.

I do so hope you enjoyed this.
