War. That was all that was on anybody's mind at the time. It was the year 2216, and nothing would ever be the same, believe me. My life took some crazy turns after I made one bad desicion, and it even cost some lives. My name's Lela, and this is my story...

Aaron Richard sat at his computer, deep in thought. The screen lit up with ads, advertising the war.
In 2209, robots were a common thing in everyone's lives. Soon, the artificial intelligence gripped ahold of them, causing destruction in their wake. Now, Aaron gazed at the screen, wonder glinting in his eyes. Slowly, he clicked on the sign-up sheet. His mind was twisting in about a million directions.
You should fight for your country. What about your friends? I'm saving them. You sure? Yes. Lela? He stopped. Could he leave Lela all alone? Aaron sighed. His girlfriend would be heartbroken if he left her. He clicked out off the sign-up. He couldn't leave Lela. Never.
But what if she dies because you didn't leave? Aaron sighed. He clicked on the sign up sheet again.
"AARON! BASEBALL!" Called his mom.
"Coming!" He yelled. He spun out of his chair and ran downstairs.
Quietly, a green image appeared on the screen...

School was as normal as it could be. Aaron and I hung out as much as possible, but for some reason, he was less talkative then usual.
"Aaron?" I asked. He had a far-away look in his eyes, and I didn't know why. He blinked and smiled.
"Im fine, Lena." He said with a smile. His little pet name for me was from one of our favorite books, Beautiful Creatures. It always made me blush.
"Something's up with you, Aaron, and you know it too." I said, my hands on my hips.
He fiddled with his hands and mumbled. I knew he didn't want to talk, and I left him in peace. But I would find out what he wanted eventually...
