A chance to say goodbye

'Hurry up'I said to my little sister.I knew I was going to be late for my bus as usual.Nora had a habbit of keeping long in the bathroom.'Nora! wait till i get back!'I rushed out of the door without my lunch and raced to the bus stop/My bus was there,but that didn't usually happen,sometimes i'm lucky.I got in and we left for school.As soon as I entered the hall,the first thing i noticed was my best friend Emily!. i walked to her and she hugged me,she was probably excited about the party.'Emily ,please! not again.You told me this ten times yesterday'.I said.It was getting late so I grabbed Emliy's hand and walked through the hall. As we entered our class,in the first row was sitting Simona...the cheerleader. Behind her was Billy...the nerd and at the last was Jessica....the loner. We used to call her the loner because she didn't seem to have any friend,neither anyone wanted to be.We sitted in our usual places and the usual miss Adams came to class and gave her Historic lecture, which no one ever got.

The bell rang and we went out the ground. We saw Jessica sitting on the bench.....all alone.'She creeps me' Emily said to me. I wasn't sure what her problem was but she did seem a little strange, with that scarf always wrapped around her head. I wanted to know her but I never talked to her except if miss Adams switched places , then I would say 'HI' but she wouldn't reply so I gave up.But I knew something was wrong with her, but no one really bothered to ask.I went home and I had totally forgot than I was mad at Nora.My mom asked me about the school and my reply was the same as always....Ok..except for little miss quiet head!.."You can't just judge people just by looking at them,maybe she's a nice girl" my mom said.I didn't wanted to get involve in that.But sometimes I was curious just to find out why she was quiet,why wasn't she good at studies,making friends,being happy. The next day I went to school and everyone was quiet happy..I didn't knew why,then suddenly I saw Emily coming out of the crowd and running towards me...really excited."Woah watup Emils?" ..... SUMMER HOLIDAYSSS! There gonna start two weeks from now one and this week we are gonna do a full sports week...badminton,tennis,basketball and much more."Wow, that's awesome!" I said ,I really liked playing basketball.."What is Jessica gonna sign up for"? I said, maybe for MISS WEIRD, Emily said.

I went to sign up for basketball and I saw Jessica. I thought I might ask her was she was signing up for."Hey Jess! Watcha signing up for ?" ......"My name is Jessica and I prefer to be called that way" ......"Ummm ok,so what you signing up for"? "Nothing" she said."Why not?" I said,"I have to go somewhere that week" ......it was so strange,because every month she took a week off and no one knew where she went but one thing I knew that day was that she actually talked. The next day I told Emily what happened."She seems nice,I should talk to her more often" I said. I went to talk to her that day.."hey jessica?" I wanted to ask you why yu can't come next week."I to,d you that I have to go somewhere".."but where?" I asked..."I can't tell".."Why not,I'm sure I can keep up"I said..."no!" an I'd dont wanna talk about that,please!"..I didn't ask her again.But she dismisses one of the best times of her life.The sports week was amazing and I won three matches in basketball.Emily did good in tennis and she got a prize.I kinda wished that jessica was there....the next week started and there was no sign of Jessica.I asked everyone about her but no one knew ..it was Friday and she didn't came,it was the last day and I really wished I could se her.I went home and and told my mom about it."Oh now who's friends with the freak?"my mom said.She was right!i did see her as my friend. The holidays were amazing,I had an amazing time.Emily came to my home for slumber party and I went to her house.We had a blast and I wish it never ended but the holidays ended really soon like in a blink .

Soon the first day of school arrived and man everyone had changed.Some had grown tall,some smarter and some nerder.I saw Emily and she was the same.She said that everyone was called to the hall for a announcement.As I was walking towards the hall,I didnt seem to see Jessica,where was she I didn't know.But I really wanted to see her.I asked some people and no one knew..I did t even had her number."Jessica didn't show up" I said to my mom."Do t worry,maybe she'll come tomorrow" my mom said,so that night I slept hoping to see her tomorrow. The next morning I had nothing on my mind except jessica.When Emily came to me I wasn't really in a mood to talk to her.Emliy told me that miss Adams had call all students in the hall,"ughhh what does she want"?...probably so eti g lame she usually talks about but today she seemed quiet down..."Students I have to tell you all something!.there was a girl in our school named Jessica Block." I looked and Emily in surprise."she...she passed away".

that was the last time I ever heard her name.Those words didn't sink into me but it was the truth.It came out that she had brain tumor,that's the reason she missed school,for her treatment.And that was also the reason she wore a scarf,because she was bald and that kept her so alone and scared.

the only thing that came I. My mind was that .....How?Why? Why didnt she told anyone?why did she kept on dying inside?why? I only had one thing on my mind that I never got to know her well or tell her I'm sorry or tell that she was great,an amazing friend .

But most of all I regret that she didn't even gave me a chance to say Goodbye.
