Amelia's POV

"Do you think this is the place?" I ask Carter. We are currently standing outside what we think is where the second clue sent us. (The first sent us to the school's gym, where we found the note on a basketball.)

"Well it said 'a childhood place, where memories start.' I mean that sounds like a playground to me." He responds. "Plus the map showed that the place was near the school."

"Okay, well then let's start looking for the clue."

I immediately head to the swings, and look under the seats. "Nothing here," I yell at Carter.

"Nothing over here at the slide," he yells back. "Do you think this is legal?" He asks suddenly.

"What do you mean?" I ask as I head towards the monkey bars.

"Well we are teenagers, currently looking at a place where children play at. And we didn't enter the campus with a visitor's pass," Carter states.

"If the clue is here, the student council must've told them people were going to be here."

"True. I'm going to check over here."

I kept on looking, and couldn't find anything. I mean we've searched everywhere.

"Maybe to find it, we have to play on these," Carter says.

"Maybe," I say. I sit down on the swing and look at the sky. I remember when Joey and I would always have competitions of who could swing the highest. He always won since he was taller, so his legs reached farther.

I start swaying, and then I feel Carter's presence behind me. He puts his hands and my back and pushes me gently. I begin to go higher to the point where I'm so high, Carter can't push me anymore.

"Carter, stop," I say laughing. "I'm going to fall off from here. Stop." I squeal.

I hear Carter laughing and then feel myself starting to slow down. After a minute, I'm still swinging, but low enough that my feet touch the ground. I felt Carter's arms wrap around my waist, and I came to a complete stop.

He didn't remove his arms, and I could feel his chest moving up and down against my back. Carter turned the swing, so I faced him. His eyes held a high intensity.

His mood went from cheery to a very serious mode. His eyes went to my lips, while I looked at a point above his head.

"This is nice, huh Amelia." Carter says, his voice a bit hitched.

"I-", I start to say.

The way Carter is looking at me, gets me confused. I'm not sure if I want it to escalate, or if I should just stop it here. His eyes turn from a hazel, to a dark brown. Carter's head begins to move towards mine, and then I see it.

"The next clue is on the tree," I say with such force, Carter falls down. He gives me a questioning look, and I get off the swing and go towards the tree and grab the paper that is pinned there.

"'It's where we eat, after a win, and it should come to you, like a heart beat.' This is stupid. Whoever writes these needs to learn how to write better sentences," I say. I look at Carter who is still sitting on the ground. "Well what are you waiting for? We have to get going to this place."

Why did I ruin that perfect romantic moment that every girl dream about, I ask myself as Carter drives towards Karen's Cafe. I honestly don't know, I reply. Why do you have to be so you sometimes? I snap out of my thoughts when I feel Carter grab my hand. He's looking straight ahead at the road, while I'm looking from our intertwined hands to his face.
