As David Anderson biked home from school on October 5th, 2016, he didn't expect what he had in store. He parked his bike outside the usual spot he did. It was a cold day therefore he forgot his jacket as always. "Mom? Dad? I'm home! I'm sorry I forgot my jacket again!" A low chuckle escaped his lips as he placed his bag against the wall. "Mom? Dad?" The young boy trailed through the house, awaiting for his parents friendly voices to greet him with hugs and kisses and there questions about how school was. As David walked into there bedroom that was upstairs, his jaw dropped in agony. "Mom! Dad!!" His high pitch scream filled the house. David Anderson's parents were murdered. Blood smeared against the wall. Bloody handprints all laid out from one corner to the next. Who could have done this? He asked himself as tears rolled down his trembling, pale face. David stuttered, his heart beating faster and faster as he backed away in each small step. Who could have?! Thoughts raced through his mind like an injured racehorse who is begging to go on through the race. His thoughts were broken through the wailing sirens that barged through the innocent, quiet, California community; voices shouting at people to stay away. People frightened if their family will be next. David Anderson wasn't a normal boy anymore. He was stranded. Lost. Scared. What was he to do? Go into a foster home?! David shook his head, vigorously as he tried to get the voices out of his head. "Why did this happen to me?!" His voice cracked but it alerted a police officer. David slowly sat down on the ground, analyzing his dead parents body. The young police officer came into the room to find David and his parents. "David..." The mans voice was stern but he kept it calm. "Stay away..." David stuttered as he bit his lip, hiding his face in his shaking hands. "Son, come with me." The officer placed a hand on David's shoulder. The boy got up quickly, running downstairs and out into the streets. He avoided the police officers and all the pedestrians that were trying to reassure him. He didn't need help. He was on his own now. No one can turn back time to stop that fatal crime.
