The wind blew in the hot summer air. I still wore a black hoodie in the mild heat. The bus drove up the hill then came to a stop. The creaking noise of the bus doors opening signaled it was time for me to get on. I walked onto the bus and sat in the back of the bus. I put on my headphones and pulled out my schedule to check out how my day would go. The bus continued picking up kids, but soon enough it stopped at the school. I looked out the window seeing the new middle school I would be spending most my time at. The bus doors opened and kids from 6th to 8th grade start running off the bus. I was the last one off the bus. My bus driver stopped me to ask my name. I then walked along the sidewalk until I got to the 8th grade hallway doors.
The roar of the students filled my ears instantly. I walked into my homeroom quickly hoping the yelling would go away, but it didn't. I sat in the back corner of the class room, as everyone hugged their friends. I opened my agenda and singed a pass for the media center. I walked down the hallway seeing all the teachers for the 8th grade. I opened the door to the media center revealing tons of books. There was two girls inside. One sat at a computer to check out books. The other one walked around checking all the shelves to make sure they were in order.
I walked to the shelf with the manga series on it. I saw a girl squatted down in front of the Fairy Tail books. She looked as if she didn't know which one to grab. I looked down at the books and saw that they were out of order. I slowly pulled put the first book for her. She smiled at me and thanked me. I fixed the order of the manga then grabbed Your Lie In April. I then went to the James Patterson section and got Maximum Ride. I checked the books out then walked back to homeroom. I sat down in my seat and took a look around. The people were talking to each other. I got out a pen and began drawing skeleton bones on my hand. My teacher then walked in.
He began to take roll. He went through everyone ending on me. "Alex Zeon" I looked at the teacher and said "Here." Everyone looked at me then small whispers filled the room. I combed my fingers through my white hair.
The boy in front of me turned around and asked "Are you a girl or a boy?" I looked up at him.
"Why does it matter?" I said coldly.
"Because why not? I'll find out when you have to go to the bathroom." He said laughing.
"Well then you can wait until then I guess." The boy turned around. The girl sitting beside me tapped my shoulder.
"It's okay, Tyler can be really mean. Most guys here are rude about people who are different. In my opinion you seem cool and I love your short snow like hair." She said sweetly.
"Thanks my name is Alex," I smiled.
"No problem my name is Jordan." She said smiling back at me.
For once I felt like i had a friend. We went on talking about YouTube and nerdy stuff. We mostly talked about our fandoms. Before I knew it homeroom ended and I had to go onto band class. Jordan hugged me then we walked to our separate classes. I was nervous about joining a new band. I went into the large band room and pulled out my drum sticks. I stuck them in my back pocket then went up to the piano. I started playing Car Radio and everyone looked at me. I just continued playing until the band teacher asked who I was.
"I'm Alex Zeon...I'm new here." I said pulling my drum sticks out.
"Everyone welcome Alex to our class." He said loudly as I made my way to the back of the room where the percussion instruments stayed.
The people jumped at me welcoming to the class. I stood behind a snare drum and began playing random things. The teacher passed out music. Band soon ended and I went on to Chorus. I sat by a girl with short brown hair and another girl with short brownish black hair. They were really nice to me. We started warming up. We also played a game to welcome the new students. It felt like forever before class changed for math. After math i had history. I then had science. For my last class I had ELA. My teacher asked for a one paged essay to see how we wrote. I wrote my essay and turned it in. Soon enough I found myself sitting in the last seat on the bus, music blasting in my ears, and the sound drowning out the yelling. I was soon laying in my bed hugging my pillow.
"Day one of one hundred and eighty." I huffed then fell asleep.
