I woke up to loud banging and the smell of sweet alcohol. Voices drifted up into my room where Violet began to stir. She wasn't on top of me anymore but to by side with her back pressed into mine. I jerked up right quickly putting on a baggy pair of shorts and a black tank top and tossing my short hair around. "Violet wake up everyone is here." I tapped her lightly with my foot before leaving for the down stairs portion.
I stood on the loft on top of the steps and took in the sight. Almost two hundred people were there mingling around with my group. Drinks were being poured like water and everyone was laughing. I cleared my throat and called for the dogs that stood behind me to bark. Silence fell thorough the group slowly.
"I have you here today to tell you we have one of the sentinels. Information is very important to our movement. We are in a stage where this information is dire to us. Bring her out Sol!" Sols hair came into view as he drug Alice around the corner and handed her to me. Her mouth was gagged and her face was bloody. The crowed under me cheered and drank."This my dear comrades is Alice! I knew her when I was a child and she is the reason why my family isn't here today. But she is also the reason we all are here today in my home." I whispered a thank you to Sol and tossed her back to him. "I wish to meet with the head of all your groups. Bring your closest as well. Ten minutes and Jasper will bring you to where we have her tied up." I tapped the banister and walked away. I looked over at Dakoda and he nodded knowing I would want him there. "Violet you might want to be here to see this as well. Things are about to start getting interesting." I whispered as I walked past her. "Has this many people been here before? I mean this seems like so many and they all bear the same marks." Her breath was stuttering as we rushed down the hall. "Last time we were together was to decide how to split and where to split at. I had decided we needed to cover more ground and we split into three groups. One at home one on the outside and one in a different town. We are home base." Her mind soaked in all of the information I was telling her. She stopped in the second stairwell. "How did you become their leader? It seems that such a young child wouldn't be given this much responsibility." I turned quickly in my place. "I was given this spot because I fought for it. I'm hardly a child anymore and with what the things I have done in my years I feel that I am good for this spot."
She stood behind me as I skipped steps on my way down to the gym area. I took a seat on the ground and waited for everyone to file in. Jasper came down the steps with a rugged group and their seconds. Both Jasper and Dakoda stood behind me when I rose to my feet. "We should just kill her now." The man who lead the outside group spoke up first, who's friends called D. At his words Alice twitched in her spot. "I disagree. She's important to what we need." The woman from Negan spoke. "Thank you Clare. D. But this isn't to discuss what we should do with her." Both of them looked at me funny. "I want to get someone in the inside. No one from home, it's obvious. I need one person from your groups each to enter the base and pass on information. Choose wisely on this because it's important to us to get this information." I crossed my hands behind my back waiting for the back lash. Both stood quiet and turned to one of their most trusted to pick. "This is Mark. He will be my pick." Claire looked me in the eye and spoke. "Grace is mine. She will serve the cause well." D only looked at the ground.
I smiled. "They will be in good hands." Both Mark and Grace took off then, most likely on their new orders. "Go join the rest. I need to take care of something. Dakoda bring the tattoo gun." Everyone snickered and turned away, knowing what was about to happen. I turned around to face Alice. "You see what's going on now. You can't stop us. And obviously I can't let you go, you know to much." She yelled behind the dirty cloth gag. I reached behind her head and tore it off. "You don't have to do this. I won't say a word." Her eyes filled with fear.
"I do. These people look up to me and I won't let them down." Her face dropped. "You are a coward! You were when your family was killed and you still are! You should have died as well!" I took her hair in my hand and jerked her neck around until I heard a sickening snap. Her mouth hung open and her eyes were wide. "Im no coward anymore." I let her body fall to the ground as Dakoda came into the room with red ink and the gun. He drug it down my arm, adding Alice onto my kill list.
