A Certain Scientific Omnitrix: Tokiwadai (book 1)

The Program

"WHAT!?" Ben stammered, looking at the large letter in his hands. "This... This can't be right."

"What is it?" Mikoto looked up from the breakfast table in the kitchen of her, Ben, and her best friend's shared Dorm. "Did something happen?"

"A letter from Tokiwadai Middle school." Ben muttered.

Mikoto raised an eyebrow. "Ooookay? Just put it on my bed as always, I'll read it later."

"It's addressed to me!" Ben said.

Ben Tennyson.. of course, if you have been reading the series this book accompanies, you know well who he is.. Wielder of the Omnitrix, hero and all that.. 

But would this hero be prepared for his next challenge?

Mikoto Misaka stood up and walked over to Ben, looking the letter over suspiciously. "Hmmm.. looks legit.. open it up.. see what's in it."

Ben tore the envelope open and took out a sheet of paper. He began to read. "Uhh... er..あ...な..た.. が ... damn it, now there's Hiragana.."

Mikoto took the letter. "You're a great speaker now, but seriously, keep studying your reading.. your school won't provide english translated text books forever.. now.. let's see.. "

Mikoto began to read in Japanese. "You have been selected for a special new program. Tokiwadai Middle School is organizing a new mission to integrate males into the school society, and possibly turn Tokiwadai into a boys and girls school. However, before we undertake this, we have selected you to attend this year for twice a week, to see how you do in this more intense and higher level curriculum environment. You will be granted extra credit to your grade for attendance.. and attendance is mandatory.."

"WHAT!?" Ben stammered. "But.. I'm in HIGH SCHOOL! They're basically demoting me!"

"Not sure about that." said Mikoto. "I mean.. our school is rated higher than yours."

"You almost took the Entrance Exam into our school!" Ben stammered. "If you need to take an entrance exam into my school FROM Tokiwadai.. that means putting me backwards into a Middle School is demotion!! Plus.. there's no way I can keep up with you all.. what with the fact that you already do college level math by the time you're 12!!"

"Attendance is mandatory." Mikoto read again with a frown. "Er.. wow, they aren't being fair to you here are they?"

"I think I'll turn Grey Matter, hide in a locker for one year.. maybe Academy City will forget about me.." Ben muttered.

"No they won't.." Mikoto said. "They'll find you.. I would know.. I was 11 when I tried to skip school.. and.. well."

"What happened?" Ben asked.

Mikoto shivered. "Best not think about it.. I can still hear the Truancy Drones and their sirens going off.."

"So.. I guess it might not be so bad.. eheh.." Ben muttered, trying reassure himself. "Me.. in a classroom filled with girls..."

"With Me.." said Mikoto.

"Yeah.. with you..." said Ben.

"And Kuroko." said Mikoto.

"And Kuro-..ro..ro.." Ben trailed off.

There was a silence.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Ben screamed as he burst out of the apartment, trying to run as far away as possible.

"OH NO YOU DON'T!!" Mikoto roared, grabbing Ben by the leg and dragging him back into the dorm. "YOU ARE GOING TO SCHOOL!!"

"I DON'T WANNA!!!" Ben screamed, scratching against the floor frantically. "I DON'T WANNA I DON'T WANNA I DON'T WANNA!!!"
