Chapter 9

*** she wasn't supposed to go ***

   She wasn't supposed to go.

   Not like this.

   I was at the airport, ready to surprise her and then cry.

   Sarah's mom found a job in Paris, and since her father died they didn't have much money even though they lived in a mansion.

   Yeah, I didn't get it either.

    "Sarah you don't have time to say goodbye to your puny friends." Sarah's mother declared, as I saw Sarah walking towards me.

   "ELLIE!" Sarah screamed and dropped her bags, then ran over to me.

   I gave her a hug that I knew I wasn't going to have again.

   "I'm gonna miss you so much Els!" Sarah sniffled.

   "It's okay, your gonna speak French! It's your dream!" I smiled while trying not to cry.

   "I love you, you stupid Elliot Ramble." Sarah mumbled and gave me a kiss on my cheek.

   "I love you too Sar. Promise you'll send pics?" I asked.

   "Of course." Sarah smiled.

   "OH MY GOD SARAH! Just let's go! I have friends to say goodbye to too you know." Jordan, Sar's little sister, said.

   "Sorry Dan." Sarah teased.

   "Let's go. Paris is waiting." Jordan demanded and grabbed Sarah's hand.

   "Ellie! Bye! Bye Ellie!" Sarah yelled as she was dragged away. I quietly wiped a tear from my eye, knowing I would never again see my best friend...no, my sister from another dimension.

   "Bye Sarah..." I whispered and walked away from the airport, holding in buckets more of tears.

   When I got back home; my sister was busy having some friends over.

   "It tastes like...baby powder?" A girl giggled from the kitchen.

   "No stupid, it's baby crackers!" I heard my sister Emma laugh.

   "Next food item!" Another girl ordered. I quickly ran upstairs to my room, too busy to be bothered with them.
