The small seaside town of Deal is preparing for its annual charity Tough Mudder fun run. This year, the town welcomes an influx of runners testing the gruelling clifftop coastal route in aid of Great Ormand Street Hospital, raising awareness for children born premature and with rare conditions.
Persuaded into helping Bradley sell refreshments to the spectators in order to drum up a bit of business for Macy's Tea Shoppe, Mark has to watch Bradley take part in the ultra competitive multi obstacle mud race convinced he will be crowned the Tough Mudder King.
Little does Bradley know that there'll be a couple of other contenders this year who could give him a run for his tea and biscuits. One being an ex premiership footballer, competing for his preemie daughter, and the other a personal trainer, taking part in aid of his brother with Williams Syndrome.
However, the real fun begins on the last half mile of the 26.2 tough coastal trail, when each of the competitors have to carry a partner over the line to be crowned champion. It seems an ageing rock star and an English teacher are prepared to be hauled over the muddy threshold, but will Bradley be able to convince Mark to take the leap of faith for him to win?
And when the First, Second and Third prizes are handed out at Macy's Tea Shoppe, with an unexpected lock-in due to the inevitable raging storm outside, three couples decide to wait it out together and play a little game of couple's bingo.
Can they all remember to drink Tea Responsibly on The District Line?
