Mystery's voice becomes a voice over as the scene transitions to Lylia in the makeup hall.
Mystery: Most use "was" when speaking of the dead, but Lylia, she's still around.
Lylia is applying makeup. During the entire monologue, she could be doing all of the things Mystery is telling them.
Mystery: Back in 1998, Lylia was the best actress the drama department had. She could be a sweetheart if her part on stage called for it, but off stage, she was horrible. Awful, hateful, arrogant, an evil stepmother with a heart of stone. She attacked anyone who threatened her position like a lioness. Once, someone else got the lead female role in "Little Shop of Horrors." A week later, she fell down a flight of stairs and broke her leg, leaving Lylia for the part. Soon, the show came. Lylia, as always, was the first one there. She locked herself in the makeup hall along with her best friend. People waited for them, angrily, of course, but this was normal. Ten minutes passed, then another. People were starting to to grow impatient; this was much longer than usual. Suddenly the breaking of glass crashed through the drama hall, followed by an ear-splitting scream. The door slammed open, Lylia's friend running out in hysterics. Behind her lay Lylia in a pile of blood and shards of glass.
