Little angels come and little angels go

They're stars you see at night and figures in the snow

They're the smile on your face, the twinkle in your eye

So why, I ask you, why, do little angels have to die?

Maybe 'cause they're borrowed and really not our own

Only here to melt the ice and break the hearts of stone

They teach us how to laugh when we've forgotten how

But now they're gone does God not see that I'm not laughing now?

Maybe God just sends them when He sees we need their light

But yet He always takes them long deep into the night

Maybe I should smile and thank God that they were mine

But even when I smile, Heaven knows that I'm not fine

But I'm gonna guess that God just sends them when He sees we need the most

And Little Angels fly away from every coast to coast

But we can thank God that He gave them and blessed us while they were here

Thank God for every smile, thank God for every tear

Even though we can't see them, their not really beyond our reach

They're forever in out hearts and little lessons that they teach

God never gives just to completely take away

The little memories we have are always there to stay

So to the Little Angels who flew away to God in Heaven above

We thank you for your smiles, we thank you for your love

I promise you'll be remembered from every day to day

Until I see your face once more when I also fly away
