As Morrigan Lilith walked through the golden gates an old man asked, in disgust, "Why are you here Morrigan?"
With a slight stutter she said "I was called on by God for I am rehabilitated, back to who I should have been, instead of the evil I was."
"No you can't be rehabilitated, you are pure evil, the child KILLER, IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!" he hissed out. Slowly a crowd formed around the young girl. The glares and snide remarks scared her so much she cowered in the corner of the ivory fortress. Tears streamed down her face, staining it a gold tone. As the crowd snickered as they watched her crying, distraught, and disheveled form shake from their cruelty. She never meant to kill anyone but they all blamed her for creating a monster that killed thousands. Morrigan thought that she could get her mother back if she just tried to resurrect her alchemy, unaware of the danger it held.
In a whisper Morrigan said "I'm sorry. No one deserves the pain I caused. Never shall I hurt others' feelings, for to create that evil reincarnated is a sin created from spite and jealousy. I am kind, friendly, and caring for others." The guilt made her want to rip her heart out to show them just how sorry she was.
The older man that looked a lot like her younger brother said, "Are you trying to deceive us, yourself, or God? Probably all! You are why were dead! You are our family curse! Mom and Dad may have given you anything you want but they still hate you...you..." She knew what he meant.
She stopped him before he did something he would wish that he never had even thought about. Morrigan purposely broke his concentrated rant by looking up and asking, "You are Bran? Bran Lilith? Why are you so old you're younger than me? I'm sorry, Bran, I really am."
"NO YOU ARE NOT! DON'T EV-er say that lie to me. And never say MY NAME AGAIN!" With that Bran started to kick his sister's side till he heard loud cracks and snaps from Morrigan.
Morrigan whimpered out "I am sorry, so very sorry." before Bran scowled at her once more.
Bran yelled out to the crowd, "Any who wants a chance can now," with no emotion in the low booming voice.
Starting slowly, though quickly moving faster, they approached her, sickly grins on their faces. They all started to beat her till she bled, coughing up blood does not satisfy the mobs craving. The mob finds a big open lanterns to try to burn her till there was no skin left. They took joy in the stench and screams they caused. Chopping her up till no appendages were left. Using whatever they would find. Most of it was not sharp so they had to rip her appendages off.
A handsome young man came running up and asking "What do you think you are doing?" The man not sparing her a glance knowing she would heal as soon as they stopped attacking her, in his land were joyville pranks rule.
"We are beating the evil out of her," yeld Bran giddily almost a bit sing-songy.
"Satan?" Morrigan whispered but everyone heard.
They respond with a sharp "Satan can not be here in Heaven." They were muttered how dumb she was, snickering at her.
The handsome man laughed and said "But I am both Satan and God. For your crimes you shall all be sent to Hell. For you my darling child, as an apology I shall give you one more chance at life on earth." When he finished talking a bright light blinded her, and as soon as she could see again they were gone.
"But I have also done wrong in life. My wrongdoings led to my death. It was a good thing that I died. I created something so horrid, as that monster. I should not have tried to bring my mother back to life. It would be too ironic and sad to live when mother was dead. I should have died sooner," Morrigan cried, accepting that she was evil.
The man sighed, "No Morrigan, you tried to do what you thought was best. Coventina had to move on, but you were right, she must be alive. We must be alive: you, me, Coventina, and even Bran. Now I must tell you what I lied about."
"You LIED. You horrid man, why did you lie?" Morrigan quickly interrupted.
"As I was saying, I lied. I am not 'God' or 'Satan'. there is no such thing. It was a joke I was playing. I am the god Dwyn of tricks and pranks. I love mischief. And you are the goddess Morrigan of wisdom and beauty, known as the Phantom Goddess," Dwyn tells Morrigan proudly.
"And what of mother and Bran? You talked about them," Morrigan stated, confused.
"Your 'mother' is the goddess of wells, the earth's womb. As for your 'brother', he is the god of music and prophecy. The thing is that the way we were born on earth is not how we were born here, Morrigan. In the realm of gods and goddesses, we are not related, as you know it. Bran is more like your nephew than your brother, but it's confusing. If you wish to know about it, I have our written history in the office," Dwyn said, trying to move to the next game.
"Wait! I have two more questions," Morrigan shot out.
"What is it?" Dwyn asked, exhausted.
"Why is there a heaven and hell if 'God' and 'Satan' are not real?" Morrigan asked while cocking her head to the side.
"Because it is a funny prank to play on the oh-so-high-and-mighty Christians that are oh-so cruel." Dwyn said, disgust dripping off every word. Though it was not like him, he was livid but, Morrigan ignored her curiosity of the subject.
"My other question was, how do you know all of this Dwyn?" Morrigan asked puzzledly.
Dwyn laughed happily "I was the first to 'die', it really is us gaining our powers so, I had time to read some of the books. Now I am certain you would like to read them. Let's go!"
