"What have you got?" I asked as soon as the doors opened to reveal Shane, another agent.

"Nothing." replied Shane. I stopped walking and asked him "What?!" incredulous.

"I'm not authorised to tell you any information on that situation. The chief wants to see you." Shane said and walked away. I headed up the stairs to the chiefs office.

"You wanted to see me." I stated.

"Yes, I did. Please have a seat." Chief Cortez said calmly. I obeyed and sat on the chair across from him. "Now, I am aware that you are concerned about Christians safety Agent Carter and you want to find out who caused the fire that nearly killed him. But I will not authorize you to sign on to this investigation." I stared at him daring him to go on. He didn't.

"Why not?" I asked coolly.

"I cannot let you."

"WHY THE HELL NOT?!" I yelled jumping out of the chair.  I didn't care I was violating protocol. "He is my responsibility."

"He is your boyfriend. By assigning you to his security detail I am not only putting you and him in danger but the whole team. Those people know who you are and believe me they will do anything to hurt him by hurting you. I cannot have that. Also, your personal relationship with him violates security protocol."

"Fine." I said calmly despite my urge to kick everything and everyone in front of me. My training had some perks, I guess..... Like self-control. I decided staying here was not such a good idea and decided to leave the office before the little self control I had slipped away.

"Savannah," the chief called just as I was about to head out the door. I turned around, my hand still on the door handle, "I don't wanna see my daughter getting tortured. These people are not to be messed with."

"Step. Step daughter." I said and walked out, slamming the door shut behind me.

*Christians POV*

Apparently this hospital was for government agents...and by that I meant it was private. Very private. It was a good thing too considering I didn't have to worry about running into crazy fans. I mean there is only so much a guy can take right?

Savannah hadn't come to see me in a while. She hadn't even said goodbye before leaving or should I say slipping out of the room. She was the only person I knew who knew where I was. Not even my own family and friends knew! The hospital had isolated me, literally. I was in prison. A luxury one at that, with a beautiful view and a big, bright garden.

My dreaming was cut short when a hand was placed on my shoulder. "Is this seat taken?" he asked.

"No." I said, analysing him. He was tall, maybe 6"1. That's only 1 inch taller than me by the way. He was wearing black. Then I noticed people around him - Secret Service agents.

What had I gotten myself into this time?
