Nolan's eyes rolled back and he slumped into a pile on the floor. Blood streamed from his newly opened wound penetrating his stomach.
It's so cold, he thought. He grasped for something, anything, suddenly feeling a rough, a cold rock. He tried to think about the rock, how it started to feel like nothing because of all the blood loss, but it was no use. The pain was far too much.
"Help!" he shouted, coughing up some blood. Everything was a blur. Everything was so distant. Suddenly, he felt as if he was picked up. Someone was definitely carrying him. He tried his best to move his head to see this figure, but a firm voice boomed in.
"Don't even try it," it said. Then a sigh. "How'd you get yourself into this mess, Nolan?"
The individual carrying Nolan readjusted him to his shoulder, carefully making sure not to hurt his stomach. Still, it wasn't much help because Nolan let out a cry of pain.
"If your the one who tried to kill me, get it over with. Don't be so low as to torture me," Nolan finally spoke, though his voice was very shaken.
They paused for a moment, then Nolan was put down against a wall. He looked up to see the person, and saw what appeared to be a normal boy, dressed as someone you'd see in public. Not a soldier or someone muscular like he thought. After all, he had carried him.
The person seemed to be a teenage boy, around 17, Nolan's age, probably. He was very tall, with curly brown hair that went just past his ears, and sharp, haunting blue eyes. He was wearing a blue plain tee shirt with pants that went past his knees. His clothes were dirty, Nolan mentally noted."Did your parents ever teach you manners? It's rude to stare," the boy said, chuckling as Nolan looked away in embarrassment. "To answer your question, I'm not here to kill you. Quite the opposite, actually. I'm here to help."
Nolan let out a sigh of relief. "Great."
The boy then said, "That being said, don't be scared when I do what I'm about to do. It's for your own good."
"What do you mean?"
The boy bent down to Nolan and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I can't give you all the details, but in a short moment your pain will come back and worst than ever. In fact, it will be so bad that there is a possibility you could die. So I will have to knock you out. Now be still and relax. It'll only hurt for a second. When you wake up, I will be there."
"Wait!" Nolan said, but the boy had already somehow put a black box to Nolan's head. It zapped him, and although it did knock him out, it didn't hurt as much as it was said to.
But before Nolan's mind completely fell unconscious, he felt himself being picked up again and start moving.

Beep, beep, beep, beep. Those are the first sounds that woke Nolan up, the sounds of a heart monitor. His head throbbed, making him dizzy and his vision blurry.
"Finally. You're awake," a stern voice said from beside the bed. Nolan look to his left and saw the same boy that had helped him earlier. He was slouched in his chair and picking at the dirt under his nails. He looked up at him and smiled.
"You've been asleep for a long time now. I thought you'd wake up hours ago," the boy chuckled and sat back in his chair. He extended a hand and said, "the name is Andrew, but call me Drew."
Nolan didn't shake the hand, just started at it in confusion. What just happened? Was I just shot? Questions swirled his mind, making him more lightheaded.
Drew slowly pulled his hand back awkwardly, and looked at the floor. "I suppose you want some answers, right?" He paused for a moment and shook his head. "It's not my job to tell you. You'll have to wait if you want to know."
"Excuse me?" Nolan blurted out, surprising himself. Drew looked back up in shock. "Someone just tried to kill me, and I'm supposed to wait?! Are you kidding me?!"
There was an long pause. The silence felt eerily heavy, and Nolan quickly took back what he had said. "I'm sorry," he muttered quickly.
