VOLUME IV--The Blade of Illumination and the End of the Blue Fox
CHAPTER 21--Kurosaki Ichigo
Before Shirosaki scared the living daylights out of me, then forcibly dragged me to the Blue Fox situation by my VERY SOUL, we had to take care of our mission first.
"Uhm, roll call?" Having just gotten sucked into a cave-trap so pitch black that I could smell it, i was important to know if everyone was there or not.
Hinata coughed, "Is everyone alright?" I jumped. So she was right next to me, okay, nice to know. "Where is everyone?"
"I'm here!"
"Worst damn ninjas EVER! Get me out of this place-"
"Yeah, I'm here, too-"
"Don't cut me off!"
"We're-"
"-Here!" Two voices answered simultaneously.
"It's pretty dark in here..."
"Itsygo! I'm SCARED!" Then my ribs started to crack up again. So that put Nel with me.
Hinata was close to me, but the others were far away. I couldn't tell, we needed light.
"Hey, can anyone get a light?"
"Yeah, let me try..." We waited in the darkness, eager for illumination. "GUYS! Something's wrong!"
"WHAT?!" We all yelped, startled.
An extra yelp came from behind me. "Hinata? Hinata!" I yelled.
"I- I can't use my Byakugan!"
"WHAT?" I heard Shino and Kiba ask. Judging by the amount of sheer surprise, I guessed that that wasn't supposed to happen. When I thought about it, nor was anything else in my life, really.
"I can't use it, at all. I can't see anything!" She began to get hysterical.
"Hinata, just take deep breaths, and calm down! I'm coming to you!"
How would I do this? I couldn't see, or really feel. "Can Akamaru smell anything?" Shino asked.
"It's faint, but yes, some. This darkness is weird. I When I say it was dark. It. Was. Dark. It was so dark, I felt as though I was floating in a void every time one of my feet left the ground to take a step. How would I know if I was going to hit something? How would I know if someone were coming?
I remembered how I always knew when one of the Captains was around. I also remembered that they frequently made fun of me because I couldn't exactly control my spirit pressure. Ha ha. Good memories.
Then that "Ah!" moment hit me. It sure took a while. I focused and looked for spiritual pressure. I hoped that their "chakra" stuff would count.
I felt small pockets of warmth, of burning fire, different from the "pressure" you felt with normal spiritual pressure. Great, they worked.
I felt three bigger fires -- the one closest to me must've been Hinata, so the ones I felt farther off must've been Kiba and Shino. They were closer to each other and our volunteer crew. I was closer to Nel and the little kid looking for his dad, Sumaru.
I inched towards where Hinata was, and soon felt a wall. "Hinata! Can you feel wall infront of you?"
"Ah... yes!" she answered in a shaky voice.
