A/N: I don't own Hetalia! Thanks for reading this chapter. Warning for historical inaccuracy. Also, I have little to no idea how child services or child's rights are in Russia. But, from what I read the internet doesn't give them any favors. I'll be glad to take any reviews to you guys who know.

Chapter 13- *Trouble- Normal P.O.V.*

The morning sun has now risen and the trio in the house decided to have breakfast. Eating in comforting silence and then getting the little chores done. Ukraine doing the dishes, Anya sweeping, and Ivan heading to his office to finish papers for the meeting. Afterward, they all got ready in their day clothes. Disturbing the peace though came a few knocks at the front door.

Katyusha opened the door to find 2 men dressed in uniform. It was the police. And a woman in a formal suit and coat. With slick back yellow hair in a high pony tail. She held a very cold sophisticated look about her. Brief case in one hand and all. A social worker...

"Morning Ma'am." The first policeman greeted tipping his hat.

"Good morning..." Katyusha opened the door wider. "Vanya the police are here!"

Ivan looked from the living room seeing the people on his door step. He frowned causing Anya to look worried. "Stay here." He whispered to her before setting her down to sit on the couch. He recognized the officer he heard speak to his sister as the one he spoke to at the station. Dmitiri he remembered his name was. "Hello Officer Dmitri."

"Mr. Braginsky." Dmitri taking off his hat out of respect revealing short brown hair. A friendly aura about him. But, he also seemed tense giving away their intentions clear.

The woman that was with them held out her hand introducing herself. "I am Vladlena Yegorov from child services. I have come to take the child into government custody."

'I AM the government.' Ivan thought coldly looking at the woman wanting nothing more than to slam the door in her face. "Ivan Braginsky." He introduced himself blocking the door wanting to stall as much as possible. Vladlena smiled confidently that everything was going smoothly. Ukraine introduced herself as well. "Katyusha Braginsky." But, she looked like she was trying to hold in tears. Her hands twitching.

"May we come in?" Dmitri asked. His softness seemed to relax the tense air. It matched his soft brown hair that was short Dmitri sent the second officer to stay in the car and keep it warm. Ivan wanted to no, but ushered them into the living room. Anya looked at the newcomers questioning and fidgeted nervously for they looked important. She recognized the officer nodding to him. He smiled gently. She looked at the very tall woman seemed to be about 5 foot 6. So, she almost stood as tall as Mr. Ivan.

"Anya?" She called to her. Getting out a file out of her brief case with her information, but all they got was her name and description. Vladlena put back the file after the girl said, "Yes..."

"You're gonna have to come with me please." Saying it as soft as possible, but to Ivan she sounded like a snake cooing for it's prey to come closer.

Ivan interrupted as he felt Anyas eyes on him then scared. "The girl doesn't need to go with you. I've already told the officer that I will take care of her until her mother was found. And I see her mother has yet to be present."

Vladlena looked at him with a frown, but not letting his input stop her. "I'm afraid officer Dmitri did something that was out of his duties, duties that I should have been notified of, and he was irresponsible for letting a young girl stay with a complete stranger."

Dmitri glared at the woman. "What was I supposed to do? The girl wouldn't let him go and he seemed like a sincere man."

Katyusha found the room to step in. "Yes, plus I'm his elder sister. He called me to come and help since she's a girl. He wouldn't want her to feel uncomfortable in any way!" Passionately defending her brother.

Vladlena sighed and things were so well at first. "This is the law. If you want to fight in court for her than by all means. IF her mother doesn't appear then, she will be placed in an orphanage to be put up for adoption. If you'll excuse me I have job to do."

"Is that all Anya is to you a job?!" Katyusha yelled. Raising her voice. She can stand a lot of things, but this? Treating children like objects to be passed around in the legal system was just, just so wrong. Ivans eyes widened. He hadn't seen his big sister so mad before.

"I'll go!" A little cry they all turned to the girl who looked pleadingly at Ivan. "I... I don't want to cause trouble. I don't want to go, but I will if that's what I have to do." She used words a child shouldn't have to say for the sake of adults and paused a few tears swelling up in her blue eyes. She looked like she wanted to continue, but she felt her throat close up and air leave her lungs as she cried.

Vladlena looked victorious despite the girl crying she had guts. She admired that. "The girl said so herself." Looking at Ivan. "I'll give you some time to pack her things and say goodbye."

"Anya..." Ivan bent down as she ran into his arms as he carried her up the stairs. Katyusha saw through the girls brave exterior as more tears went down Anya's cheeks onto Ivans coat. Holding him as tight as she could with her little hands. Katyusha put her hand over her lips to keep her the sob that threatened to come out. She could also tell Ivan was holding her just as tightly, but gentle.

Ivan sat her on her bed inside of the bedroom meant for her. He looked around and saw a doll and couple other toys she has played with on the floor. It was where she belonged and he would be damned if he would be kept from his Anastasia again. He clenched one of his fists tight as the other picked them up off the floor organized them into a suitcase he would let her borrow for now. Placing the clothes Katyusha had brought for her and folded them gently inside. Anya didn't say anything throughout the entire packing just sniffing trying to be strong. Ivan was doing the same, but for more of the reason that he was Russia. A proud nation who doesn't cry for men in Russia needed to be fierce and not be seen as weak. Also, more importantly to be strong for her. The one he is meant to protect... He carried the suitcase in one hand and held her in the other. She cuddled into him just like the day he met her.

Finally, what seemed so short was the trip downstairs. Anya whispered to him in his ear, "Promise you won't forget me Vanya?"

His heart ached having to give her away. He swallowed wanting nothing more than to break down, but held her tightly and kissed her on the forehead. Clenching his eyes shut so she wouldn't see his pain. "I won't. I promise Anastasia I'll bring you back home." With his word he set her down glaring at the social worker. Katyusha doing the same as Dmitri took the suitcase from Ivan with a nod and a look of apology. He really hated his job sometimes. Dmitri had a daughter himself and this scene was too personal for him to get too involved.

Vladlena with a brief, "Time to go sweetie." took Anya's hands after she put her mittens on and nearly dragging her out.

Anya's walls broke down as she saw the two people she was closest to getting further away, persisted in wanting to stay. Ended up crying out to her Aunt Katya and Ivan. "VANYA! I DON'T WANT TO GO!!! AUNTIE KATYA, DON'T FORGET ME!"

Knives seemed to go straight to both their hearts as they watched the girl be picked up kicking and screaming into the car. Katyusha needed to turn away and cry into her younger brother's arms not wanting to look at the girls despair. Ivan placed his arms around his big sister he himself needing someone to hold on to. Watching Anya being taken away... He himself couldn't bare it, but he had to. "VANYAAA! AUNTIE KATYAAA!"

A/N: Now you guys can see why i held off on writing this chapter. ;A; Waaa! I hated this! And yes, I know not all social workers are evil incarnate, but to me this one in my story is...
