Seren's heart seemed to stop beating for only a moment. It's king paced around his study. If the rumor's were true then the kingdom of Seren's fate would be unknown.
Gareth was a union formed between a few other kingdoms. Their agenda's were always complex and the results always brought disaster upon Seren. What people had heard about Gareth lately would devastate far more than they could imagine.
The King of Seren couldn't possibly compete against the future youthful leaders Gareth was grooming. He kept his hopes for Seren lying in his male heir. Tonight would be the night the young prince would be born.
With the birth of the prince, the people of Seren held a small peace within themselves. They could imagine the hero now! He'd be a strapping young lad with broad shoulders. His hair would soft and full of curls and his winning smile would be wide and pearly white. He would be strong and heroic. His conquests
would be known across the land.
A small knock on the door interrupted the king's thoughts. Standing in the door stood his trusted advisor Kingsley. Their was a bit of joy but a tinge of fear lurking within Kingsley's eyes.
"Is everything alright?" the king asked. Only hours ago his queen had gone into labor with the future dashing young prince.
"You may want to sit down" warned Kinglsey.
Queen Katrina's mouth was still wide open. "You're serious?" Her words were directed towards the nurses. This changed everything. So many uncomforting thought flooded her mind. In her arms nestled her newborn baby.
" What will Rupert think!" She cried.
What did exactly King Rupert think? No one had any clue for he kept a talent for holding no emotion. The people themselves were confused on what to think.
Instead of a prince, a young princess had been born. She was named Dawn after the time her fate was decided. She was proclaimed to be loved, but there would still be the looming thought that she was not the intended prince.
Kingsley was all for keeping the girl and in her honor, he planted a small rose plant near the wall within the eastern garden.
