The GPS went off again an hour later.

In a quarter mile, turn left onto Mahogany Road. Then continue heading west.

My hand was still intertwined with Shadow's. He hadn't let it go since earlier.

Almost like he was scared.

Hell, I know I am. But it's all for our kids. Our babies.

"If you're tired, you should rest,"Shadow said. "I'm fine. I don't need rest,"I replied.

"You might. It's already..."he looked down at the clock on the display. "One twenty-seven a.m."

"I know, but I just can't,"I replied.

Too much adrenaline pumping through my veins. Too many scenarios of what's going to happen flashing through my head.

"Try. For me,"said Shadow. He gave my hand a gentle squeeze. I sighed softly. "Okay. I'll try,"I said.

I closed my eyes, resting my forehead against the cold window.

It seemed as if the world around me went dead silent suddenly and all I could hear was the steady beating of my heart.

Next thing I know, Shadow is shaking me awake.

"(Y/n). (Y/n) wake up. We're almost there."

My eyes fluttered open. I rubbed the sleepiness from my eyes and yawned.

"How long was I out?"I asked, my voice low and raspy. "An hour or so. We'll be there in five minutes. Get ready,"he replied.

Letting go of Shadow's hand, I tightened my ponytail. I looked out the window as I smoothed loose hairs out of my face.

"I was thinking...I may have a plan, but I don't know if it'll work out the way I think it will,"Shadow said.

"It's better than just barging in. What is it?"

Giving me a hesitant glance, he began to explain.

Upon reaching our destination, Shadow finished his explanation.

"I understand...but are you sure?"I questioned. "Yes. I am,"he replied.

Our destination was an old and abandoned shipping warehouse. From what Shadow told me in his explanation, the place is like a maze.

It has many different rooms and hallways and only two exits. There's no windows either. That was just to keep the whole place warm but it's still a disadvantage.

I looked out the window as we drove up to the front entrance. People were already waiting for us even though it was dark and freezing cold out.

"This is it,"Shadow said softly. I sat in silence before turning to him. Cupping his cheek, I gave Shadow a kiss. His lips were warm and soft, like they always had been.

Pulling away, I rested my forehead on his. We looked into each other's eyes. (E/c) to crimson.

"I love you so much and I want all four of us to leave this place. But if we can't, you have to promise me you won't come back for me,"I stated softly.

I rubbed his cheek as we continued to stare into the depths of each other's souls. Shadow was silent, his lips pursed.

"Shadow..."

"I can't make such a promise. I can't leave the love of my life in the hands of that bastard. I'm sorry, but I just can't."

I gave him a small smile. "Okay. Let's go. They're waiting."
