The sound of old jazz music echoed through the thin walls of the building. The screams of an arguing couple caused the single hung picture frame to tremble against the wall. One more shattered vase. A small world contained in the small space between those four walls of a motel room. The faded wallpaper which had once had the beautiful patterned of roses and rose vines were peeling off and were no longer white but brown. The dark wooden floor worn out and chipped with stains or liquor and other questionable liquids scattered around.
The bed shoved in the corner seems as old as the wallpaper with only a wrinkled thin white sheet tangled on top. The small round table filled with empty bottles and drugstore makeup. The gleam of the cracked hand mirror shined slightly in the darkness. The only light provided was that of the red neon sign of the store across the street. The single window bare allowing a cold chill in through the cracks in the window.
In the darkness of the small world, a small child sat inside a large chest. Arms wrapped tightly around her old worn stuffed toy rabbit with a small tremble in her arms as her eyes remained glued on the neon light outside the window. Her hair was long and tangled as the small thin clothes she wore provided little comfort towards the chill in the room.
Then in she came, as a wild beautiful red rose in the midst of a dessert. Her steps light almost graceful like a dancer's. Her thick dark hair curled with a shine as her pale skin seemed to glow. Her face was youthful as her red lips pulled into a playful childish smile revealing her pearly white teeth. The red dress beautiful shifting with each move she made. Her eyes dancing as she stared at the man she had brought. Words muttered before the lady made her way to the young child. A gently smile gracing those ruby lips as the lady brushed back the hair from the girl's face. Laying the child back on the chest the women brought up her index finger to her lips with a playful smile. Words whispered from the child to the beautiful lady before the world went dark.
"I love you."
