"I just love you so much, (Name)." He murmured as his hands started trailing circles on your arms up and down in a twist of patterns.
"More than sunflowers?" You giggle, feeling high on the beauty people call love.
"So much more." He replied as he started to place delicate kisses on your neck and down to your collar bone. Moments like these were your favorite. When it was just you and him, his arms wrapped around your waist in a protective manner. These moments were like paradise.
"Hmm, Ivan~" You murmurer and roll over, expecting to find the handsome Russian's warm body welcoming you to snuggle into him. As soon as your mind realized there was nothing but empty, unused bed, your eyes snap open and delicate, unwanted tears start to roll down your cheeks. Why did you have to leave?
The other night dear as I laid sleeping
I dreamed I held you in my arms
But when I woke dear I was mistaken
And I hung my head and I cried
You barely glanced up when you heard the front door open. You already knew who it was. Either Kat or Natalya, Ivan's sisters, coming to check on you. Why they didn't just label you a hopeless case, you didn't understand. They were always trying to get you out of the house to do something. However, not even with Natalya's darkest threats could they get you to go anywhere. Except to visit Ivan. Only then would you leave this memory ridden house. So deep into your thoughts, did you notice that Kat- You guessed she offered to visit you this time- place a bowl of soup in front of your thinning figure. "(N-name)? Y-you need to eat that."
You sighed and looked at the bowl in front of you with disgust. However, before you could object, Kat spoke in a tone you had never heard her say before- one lined with a certain deadliness. "I won't leave until you eat every last bite. Ivan would want you to eat." With Ivan on your mind, you pick up the spoon and start slurping in small doses of the soup and forced yourself to keep it down your throat. Suddenly, the door pushed open again, and a man's deep voice could be sounded throughout the house. You leap up and run into the main corridor with excitement in your eyes and a smile stretched on your face, earning a huge look of shock from the Ukrainian woman who was sitting across from you. "Ivan!?" You squeal and finally reach the last turn. Startled, the man drops the items he was holding and turns to you with a small, sad frown.
"I-I'm sorry, (Name). It's me, Torris." As soon as you had saw him, you realized your mistake. As soon as those words came out of his mouth, you just wanted to fall to your knees and die. It was like you were a little kid and you had gotten a piece of candy. You were so excited to open the candy and taste its sweetness, but then someone takes it from you before you can. Then Kat was like the mother, ushering you off to get you another piece, or, in your twisted life, to run you up to your room and try to calm you before you make a scene.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
For the next few days after the incident, you had stayed locked up in your room, holding onto different varieties of Ivan's things, just trying to feel close to him again. You wouldn't open the door for anyone. You just wanted to be alone with him and wanted no disturbances in the process. Of course, people were worried about you, but what could they do? You were still in love with Ivan, even if he had left you down on earth by yourself.
Cuddling up next to one of his shirts and a picture of just him, you allowed your mind to wander back to the good times with the silver haired man. Many people considered him to be a monster, but you had decided to look past that and try to really get to know what lied underneath the large beige coat and lilac scarf. You knew that under the ice in his eyes was a kind and gentle giant. After you became acquainted with him, people started to see the soft side, too. As the relationship grew even deeper, and, at this point, all of the ice had melted and revealed a warm fire, the deal was set. It was clear to everyone that the love would last forever.
You press the picture closer to your chest. "I'll love you forever, Ivan. Even if you move on."
I'll always love you and make you happy
If you will only say the same
But if you leave me and love another
You'll regret it all some day
You told me once dear you really loved me
And no one could come between
But now you've left me to love another
You have shattered all of my dreams'
In all my dreams you seem to leave me
When I awake my poor heart pains
So won't you come back and make me happy
I'll forgive dear I'll take all the blame
Today was different from the rest. You had gotten up early, eyes bright and a smile stitched onto your face. There were no bad dreams last night, no waking up sobbing. It was indeed today that you were going to go out with Ivan. He was going to take you to see the tall and happy sunflowers that he loved so much. You put on a pretty bright sundress and a nice sweater to go over it. Then, you did your make up and hair in the soft curls Ivan loved so much. He said they make you look like a принцесса(1). Before leaving, you grab a shoebox that had a little surprise in it for your love. With it in hand, you start your short hike to the beautiful sunflower fields to meet your Ivan.
As you walk through a small pathway through the golden plants, you pluck the prettiest one you find, the one that seems so green and full of life and continue to the small clearing made in the sea of gold. You stop with a small smile and kneel down in front of the smooth, plain grey stone and lay the flower in front of it and then open the shoebox with a laugh. "I think you forgot this, Ivan. Don't worry, I've brought it now so you don't have to be so cold anymore." With that, you pull out the soft purple scarf gently and wrap it around the cool rock.
Once that was done, you sit next to it and look around at the flowers around the two of you. "The sunflowers sure are pretty right now, eh?"
"I couldn't agree more, little one." The silver haired man sitting next to you agreed, taking in the beautiful image in front of him and wrapping an arm around your petite frame. "They certainly are. Oh, and thank you for bringing me my scarf. I was getting cold without it."
You giggled. "You're welcome. Next time, try not to be such a forgetful Jones, okay?"
"I promise I won't." With that, the man stood up and walked to the edge of the sunflowers. He looked back to give you a smile and a wave goodbye, before pushing his way into the throng. When he was gone, you looked back to the stone.
Enjoy the sunflowers, Ivan Braginski.
Brother, Friend, Love.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
