Chapter 6-Unohana and ice

Haku's pov

I chuckled at Ukitake's words concerning Toshiro's obvious feelings for Momo that he tried to conseal.."I see..."...I then turned to the Captain..

His brown eyes widened in shock all of a sudden..

I looked over at him, surprised..."What is it, Captain..? What's the matter?"

He turned to me, an anxious look on his face...

"Haku...remember when you told me, that there were some ninja in the ninja world that could sense the presence of others using ...chakra was it? to sense other's chakra...?"

I nodded "Yes, and that includes myself, sir..? Why?...What's wrong.."

"Well..."...he hesitated for a moment and then continued...

"It's just...I felt him, as if he'd just gotten into the Soul Society through the precipice world..

and the Soul reaper who sent you here, Momo..though the energy coming from her feels weak...as if she'd been hurt badly.."

I gasped in horror.."Then..she..."

Ukitake's pov

I noticed the look of horror in Haku's eyes...He looked so guilt ridden, anxious and upset all at once...I knew that though it wasn't his fault, Haku felt that if he had stepped in to save Momo or done something to stop Momo fighting the creature using his ice abilities..but he...

"Hey.." I touched Haku's shoulder gently and bent down slightly so I could look at him face to face..."It's not your fault Haku, if she is hurt..."

"Momo's a lieutenant of the Thirteen court guard squads..she will recover..I know it"..

Haku looked up at me "You really think so?...She's only young..she.."

"So are you, Haku..but she's a lot older than you think...She's not going to die yet...not if Captain Unohana-senpai can help it..."

I smiled, thinking of Unohana-senpai and how helpful she'd been in the past in regards to healing squads of Soul reapers and souls.

Haku looked at me, puzzled at that comment.. "Captain Unohana is one of the Soul Society's best healers and one of our most experienced captains.."..

Haku looked more positive after hearing what I had just said and smiled a little.."Well..that'll mean that Momo will be able to heal up faster..and I'll be able to thank her, after all I owe her, don't I?".

I smiled at his words...Haku was a sweet young man... very polite ,respectful and grateful to others...I was really growing fond of him despite the fact we'd only been talking for an hour or two..and having only been in his company for a small amount of time..

I smiled.."I'm sure she'd really appreciate that,Haku.."

I looked around cautiously to check that we weren't being watched..

"Er..Haku..." I cupped my hands around my mouth and whispered softly..."You also may want to be wary around Captain Unohana-senpai if you do meet her..."..

"Oh...why's that?" asked Haku, both surprised at the fact I was whispering and the content of what I had said.

"Well.."...I continued to whisper.."She seems like a really gentle and graceful captain who is really polite but if she is annoyed by you or you don't follow her commands...well..." I gulped.. "She has a pretty scary side..trust me..you do not want to see that side of her.., just stay on her good side...and she'll get along with you.."

"Oh okay.." Haku had turned pale and seemed worried at the thought of her....

I turned white...I may have said too much, I mean after all, Haku wasn't sure yet whether or not he wanted to be part of the Thirteen court guard squads yet, he was only young , had just died and had had to take in a lot of strange information in a short period of time..

Haku's pov

....Captain Unohana...she sounded so scary...I'd heard that Lady Tsunade of the Sannin was supposed to be scary when angered...but this woman..sounded terrifying..

..That made me feel unsure whether or not it would be a good idea to join the Thirteen court guard squads or not...and I didn't feel sure about it in the first place..

If Zabuza-sensei had gone to the same place as I, then being part of this court guard squads along with him and the captain wouldn't be such a bad offer..

But..

I looked down..

I didn't know if Zabuza was okay...I didn't know if he was alive..I didn't know if he was dead..

"I'm sorry...Haku.." said the captain, suddenly..."I didn't mean to scare you...I understand..if you don't want to join the Thirteen court guard squads after what I said.."

I continued to look down..."No.."...

"It's fine, sir..."

I paused for what felt like an hour but probably wasn't and contemplated for a minute or two..

I then spoke having considered his words and what I'd been thinking of previously..

"You're right..I'm not sure yet whether I want to join..but, would it be okay to at least check out what you guys do and see if Momo is okay after what happened..?"

The captain looked suprised at this request..I thought he would say no, even though he was a nice guy , due to legislation in the Soul society, but instead..

"No one's ever asked me that before, Haku but I'm sure that would be absolutely fine. Just stay around me though, as some other captains and members may get suspicious." he replied, smiling gently

"Okay..." I smiled, slightly more reassured..

The captain stood up and I proceeded to stand up too. The two of us started walking along together...eventually the walking turned into a fast pace...and then into a fast dash..

...I noticed snow and ice was falling from the sky...a piece of ice fell into my hands

This ice..

It felt different to my ice...

It was colder...

Much colder...

Much, Much, much colder..

Could it be....? I thought to myself...

Toshiro's pov

I felt an energy within the soul society as I came through the barrier into the soul society from the Precipse world, whilst carrying Momo...It felt similar to how my Zanpacto felt when I wielded it in battle..like ice..though it felt like it had some warm kind of feeling mixed in with it...It was hard to describe and distinquish..

Then a thought came to me..Wasn't Momo protecting someone when she started to fight that creature?...I had seen a figure from a distance that she stood in front of..and it disappeared

..It had probably headed to the soul society..

Was this energy...coming from that soul of that person?

Did that person...have special abilities...abilities like mine that used ice...?

I dashed as fast as I could, still holding a bleeding Momo to find Captain Unohana..Yes, she would definitely be able to save Momo..

"CAPTAIN HITSUGAYA...!!!" a voice yelled in the distance.....
