I've been here for about four days, they're most likely coming home tomorrow or the next day...

I'm sitting on the couch, watching tv and playing with the dogs, when I hear a sound in the backyard.
     I look outside and see a guy jumping the fence into the yard. He's wearing a black hoodie with the hood on, black pants, and black converse. I pull a knife out of the wooden block it shared with other knives. I step outside, holding the knife behind my back, but in a way where it's placed in the middle of my back and all he can see it my elbow and up of my right arm.

"Hey!! What are you doing?!" I yell at the mysterious man in front of me. He stares at me, but his hood is covering his eyes, so I can't get a good look of his face.

He takes a step towards me, and I yell,

"Don't take another step!! Stay away!!"

He takes another step, so I pull out the knife.

The blade shines in the early rising sun light, while his face seems to go paler than a full moon in the night sky.

"I suggest you go back to where you came from, before this turns south...!! Are we clear-" I'm interrupted by his quick turn and leap back over the fence.

"...k..." I say as a wave of realization of what just happened washes over me and my knees give it underneath me and I fall to the ground on my knees. I push a hand through my morning messy hair. I eventually get enough strength to stand up again, so I go back inside and into the kitchen. I slide my knife back into its slot, and go to flop back onto the couch. The dogs rush up to me and lick my hands and whine and nudge my hand when I don't pet them in return. I eventually fall asleep, with Bogart in my lap and Penny Lane on my left...

I wake up, but not by either of the dogs or both of them or a sound in the backyard...no...

It was the sound of a car pulling into the driveway.
