Preface
I took a step towards the bay leading to the best place in the world. I simply call it "The haven". I smile.
"Hey Alec are you doing ok since the last time I saw you?".
No answer.
"I know"
The wind blows.
I walk off the dirt path onto my own. I could remember exactly how to get here without a marked path, but it was the same way Everytime. I bet I could even do it with my eyes closed. Actually I have sleepwalked through here, but that's besides the point.
I pick up a red leaf, the same way I do each day I can in the fall. I listened to the rain slowly drip down onto the world while I took another footstep to the tree.
"I know I should be selfish, Alec, but I can't help it, I know your here, but... where are you?"
"Please come back"
...
"What am I doing out here talking to nobody, thinking that there's someone named Alec that knows who I am somehow and is my best friend even though we've NEVER MET"
"No, I... never mind I'm just crazy" I said and sat down in front of the tree.
