Chapter 1

♠Chapter One♠

I always new that we where not alone in this world, we searched but we never looked hard enough.

All our lives where changed that day when evil struck.

Flashback

I lived with my mom and dad with my little sister who was 10 years old, we lived in a decent house we weren't poor or rich. When we found out about the out break, we stayed home and boarded up all windows and doors. No one ever did come in or tried to either, so we were safe. When things started getting calmer people said we made a treaty with the Vampires but with one condition. We humans would have to donate women, but we would stay alive.

To be donated you had to be nineteen to go but only women, and no children allowed were to be donated. We accepted but weren't happy about it.
I was sixteen, I would be nineteen in three years from now. After vampires were now in our lives, we shared equally and treated others with respect.

Other things started coming out of hiding like wolves or so called werewolves would come. We never did sign a treaty because they never did trust us. They then decided to only stay in there territory and lands mostly woods and some small towns. We were okay with the wolves coming and going, still able to come and stay in our lands.

End of Flashback

I lived a normal life while I shared it with monsters. Today I got up like normal, I had breakfast and decided to take my little sister, Madison to school. When I got to her school, I gave her a a quick hug and a kiss on the forehead. We had a routine, everyday she goes to school because she hates it so much. I would take her to my favorite spot dad used to take us. Our dad had died of cancer two years ago it was terrible because we were all alone with our mom.

When I turned eighteen, I decided to get a job and not go to college and only help my mom and Madison. It was time to go get Madison, when I got there she was talking to some girl her age. I had a weird feeling. She got in the car and stayed quiet.

"Who was that?" I asked.

She finally talked " Just someone from class.." She said nervously.

"Really!" I said, curious of who she was.

"She is... Ugh... A vampire." She said, I was so caught off guard, I almost crashed as I looked at her as if she was crazy to be friends with a vampire. She new better, it has been 3 years since we shared a world with vampires and she new not to trust them no matter what. Especially a child those are the ones that don't have control over there hunger, but some I heard that had half bloods in them that was when a human and vampire blood was in them but those were rumors I heard they are fake for sure. I hope.

"She is nice." She said hoping I understood in a way I did ,but I still I didn't trust the little girl.

"Well, just stay safe ok, Madison?" I said she responeded with a nod.

We then came back from our secret place ,and while Madison was in her room and mom cooking I decided to watch some tv.

Like the usual people dying downtown which was a place were vampires didn't care they just made sure not to get cought.

•The Next day•

I got up not all to excited because my birthday was not far it will be tomorrow. My best friend Amanda had just turned nineteen the donation would be at any day, which got me scared but not to much because you only get donated if they like your blood.

We planned spending the day of my last days of being a eighteen years old with amanda. We where to go to the beach for three hours, Amanda brought some of our besties to hang out with they were seventeen or still eighteen.

I got somethings I packed some sunscreen some sunglasses. I put some extra clothes for Amanda since she always forgets hers. I finally got dressed after packing a few things.
I was wearing a black loose crop top and some distressed shorts with black converse and some black sunglasses.

Amanda's car honked I sad goodbye to my mom and sister with a kiss on the cheeck and left.
Amanda and my other friends were already inside the car.
