During the summer the town throws a harvest inspired event at the main hall. This is once of the most anticipated dates on the towns Calender; Well, everyone except Cecil, he wasn't one for social situations. Everyone bakes their "signature dish", there is a highly competitive apple pie competition, dancing and at the end of the night we light a bonfire in the town square. On the night of the event everyone was flocking the town hall in his or her best attire. Come carrying dishes, others bottles and a couple children.

The evening progressed and the atmosphere was lively and electric. Some had retired for the night whilst others kept dancing and drinking. Ellie the founders of the event and the judge of the apple baking competition had found herself a dance partner and was leading the rest of the dancers in song. The bubbles appeared to give her a boost in confidence. I never believed that a kind and excitable woman like her would be married to a person like Mordecai. Dancing with one of the younger farmers seemed to make her look ten years younger. My mother and I were apart of the crowd clapping and cheering the dancers on.

The bonfire was a rather impressive finale to a great night. I tried to find Ellie to thank her for the effort she had made to make the night so special. After searching for her I was told by one of the wheat farmers that he saw Ellie and her dance partner run of to her house. This was bound to stir things up.

The next day I arrived at Mordecai and Ellie's house with some flowers to give as a thank you to Ellie. However Ellie didn't answer. Mordecai did. The bags under his eyes clearly visible even though the flyscreen mesh. I enquired about Ellie only to be told that he hadn't seen her since last night. Leaving me to wonder where she may be. Deciding that she may have stayed the night at her "guy friends house" sleeping off the alcohol. I decided to head home and to giver her the flowers the next day.

However she didn't show up the next day, or the day after. At the end of the week Mordecai had organised a search party for Ellie and her "friend". After a week of searching the walk trails, farm stays and neighbouring towns, the search was called off.
