Chapter Three

Lucas

Lucas went along with Krishna’s plan to crash at his place for two reasons. Apart from her looks which hadn’t seemed to change in six years and still had him stumbling like a hormone crazed teenager, he really didn’t think he had a choice in the matter. She was always one to get her way and he admired her for it.

Not to mention the thought of her sleeping in his small one bedroom flat made him hard.

Pulling onto the dead end dirt road to his home he couldn’t help but watch closely in his mirror in disbelief. Shaking his head he still found it hard to believe that after an abrupt move that left him heartbroken and lonely, the one girl who truly held his heart was back in his life. And he wasn’t sure how, but he was silently determined to make this night last as long as possible. Refused to let her walk away from him again.

Six years is a long time to sit and think of the many ways one could go about finding and stealing back their mate. And that is exactly what he did. Sure, he may have had his share of women throwing themselves at him and yeah he might have gone along with it. But no woman would ever compare to Krishna. Never could.

Placing his rusty ole Ford pickup in park and turning the key he continued to watch as she rode up behind him and did the same, removed her helmet and pulled her long legs over to climb off – shaking her hair out as she did. Adjusting his jeans in hopes to relieve some pressure, he silently thanked the God’s for sending her back to him. Promising to never let her go again.

A light tap on the window and he was brought back to reality as her smiling face sent yet another wave of pleasure throughout his body. He smiled in return. “I’m afraid it isn’t much of a place. Nothing compared to what you must be used to.” He admitted honestly unaware of what it was she was truly used to.

Following behind with her backpack on her shoulder and her helmet in hand Krishna thought how if he only knew the truth how they wouldn’t be having this conversation. “I’m sure it will be just fine.” She admitted in truth. Anything was better than her original plan of sleeping at the truck stop.

He paused once they reached the top of the stairs and faced her. A worry of un-satisfaction plaguing him as he nervously spoke. “I don’t have a guest room. Just a sofa … and it’s lumpy.” He added the last part as a deterrent in hopes she would choose his bed – with him in it – over anything else he had to offer her. Wishful thinking of course when she shook her head and smiled.

“Really, that’s great.”
