“Draco,” I called when I saw him. “It’s good to see you.”

I felt like ages since I last saw him and just like he said he invited me to come and stay at his house for the remainder of the holidays with him and his family at Malfoy Manor.  Malfoy Manor is a "handsome manor house" surrounded by elaborate gardens, including a fountain and roving white peacocks, and enclosed by wrought-iron gates that permit select individuals to pass through them as if they were smoke. The interior is sumptuously decorated and includes ornate furniture, marble fireplaces, and gilt mirrors. It has a large entrance hallway with portraits lining the walls and a stone floor mostly covered by a magnificent carpet. When I entered the hall I was greeted by a man, Lucius Malfoy. Lucius has a pale, pointed face, with pale blond hair and cold grey eyes.

“Mora Snape, it is a pleasure to finally meet you. I am Draco’s father Lucius.” He said holding out his hand.

“The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Malfoy.” I said shaking his hand.

A tall, slim woman entered the room; she was very pale, with blue eyes, long blonde hair. She seemed to glare at me before approaching.

“You must be Mora Snape; it’s good to meet you.” She said with a clear, cold voice. “I am Narcissa Malfoy.”

“Nice to meet you Mrs. Malfoy.” I said trying to be polite, but I could tell that she did not approve me being friends with Draco. A house- elf with large, bat-like ear and bulging green eyes the size of tennis balls walked shyly into the hall and stood near Lucius Malfoy.

“Take Miss Snape’s bag and show her to her to her room. I’d like to speak to Draco.” Said Lucius to the house-elf.

The house-elf took my bag from me and asked me to follow him. The room I was staying in was big and had cream colure walls and a poster bed up on the far wall, I thanked him before he left. All of my bags and trunks that I would be needing for here and school was already here and all my clothes were already put away. I sat on the bed and looked around my room. Over the next few weeks that I was at Malfoy Manor I had a fun time with Draco as he showed me the house and the ground and took me flying on his broomstick. Lucius was pleasant and treated me well but Narcissa never showed me any reason to think that she was happy with me being here.

One morning I woke up to find that no one else was here. I walked down the stairs to the kitchen and saw the house-elf cleaning the dishes.

“Good morning.” I said to him as I walked to the table where my breakfast had been laid out: eggs and bacon with toast. He jumped when he heard me and spun around.

“Good morning Miss Snape.” He said before going back to the counter. I saw a letter from Hogwarts addressed to me and sitting down I opened it. There was also a list of the new books I needed for the coming year.
