Aelyn lowered the hood of the cloak, which she swiped from a market-stand an hour ago. From the corner of her eyes, four Safers walked around the plaza. They were fast, but luckily they hadn't noticed her yet.

She made her way towards the docks. The streets of the capital were always busy around this time. Even at night the roads were packed full of people. She usually hated it, but now it gave her the cover she needed.

Aelyn looked at the citizen's of the capital from underneath her hood. From the outside everything looked perfect, but she knew better. Aelyn knew the darkness this city beheld.

The morning breeze was refreshing as she neared the edge of the city. If she had the time she would have enjoyed it a little longer. She had been locked up for months, unable to even look at the outside world. But time was of the essence and she knew Olympus and the Safers were after her.

The moment she arrived at the docks, the mutant strolled towards the silver taxi's that were lined up on platforms across the street. She slipped through the mass of people to the car at the far back.

She knocked her knuckles against the tinted window of the taxidriver. The tint of the window came undone and she saw how the driver pressed a white board against the window.

On a break

The tint on the window returned, making it impossible to look into the vehicle.

Aelyn sighed and knocked on the window again. The driver turned off the tint on the window once more and grumpily looked at the woman outside of his car. Although her face was covered his eyes widened at the sight, which made him open the doors of the backseat at once.

Aelyn crawled on the backseat before the doors slid down again.

"To the nearest hospital, missy?" He said as he looked at the woman in the back of his car.

The blue fabric of her cloak had turned a deep red and it spread with every minute that passed.

Although she had yet to take out the bullet in her shoulder, Aelyn knew something was wrong. It had been a couple of hours. She should have been healed by now. Even if the bullet remained.

"No, take me off the island instead. Preferable to the nearest station there is," she said to the driver.

He hesitated as he turned on the engine of the car. His eyes flickered up to the lower half of her face, as it was the only thing visible from underneath her hood.

"Are you sure? I reckon that there are much more capable hospitals in the capital than down there."

Aelyn shook her head.

"Take me down," she mumbled as she looked out the window. A couple of Safers arrived at the scene. She saw them holding up their AR Holo-watch, which displayed a holographic picture of her face, as the taxi rose of the ground and hovered closer towards the edge of the capital.

She leaned her head back against the headrest, closing her eyes for a second.

She made it out.

She almost forgot about the throbbing pain of the wound on her right shoulder as she felt how the car started descending. She glanced out of the window as the car furthered away from the capital.
