Prompt – Song: When I was your man – Bruno Mars

Acknowlegments: Happy Birthday Rose. This is for you my friend.

He was standing beside his best friend, waiting for the bride to walk down the aisle, the first notes of the nuptial march beginning to play as he held his breathe waiting... Until the figure of the woman clad in blue beside the now wide open double doors caught his eyes... His world tilted in his axis when he saw her... As beautiful as ever, the blue dress taking away all his attention from the bride, a white veil covered her face as she looked intently to the altar.

The general attention was on the beaming bride as she walked down the aisle, Cherry was beautiful in a simple white dress... but in his head he saw no one else but his lady in blue. Jeffrey swallowed hard as he saw her moving to stand right in the center of the aisle, watching the proceedings with an air of boredom but he knew better... It was all his fault... If only... She wouldn't be here watching the man she loved getting married to someone else.

The moment Cherry's father handed his daughter to the care of James, Rose seemed to stand straighter... Jeffrey was wondering if she was going to do something outrageous... But she just gave James one last long stare, turned around a left, her blue dress trailing behind her as he watched James give one last look over his shoulder to see Rose walk away.

Murmurs erupted around the place as people turned to look what the groom was looking at, just seeing the retreating back of a goddess like figure.

The urge to run after her was giving Jeffrey a sense of panic he hadn't felt before, but he had a mission to fulfil and endured the procedures standing by his friend as a replacement for the best man that has lost a connecting flight from Hong Kong. He wanted to kill Nate.

The moment his duties were fulfilled he ran to his car and drove to the only place he was sure he would find her. An hour later he was entering a luxurious and very decadent establishment, after giving a very generous tip to the doorman. Since the years they have been together Rose' tastes gave a turn for new things, daring things, curious and intrepid she had walked away the moment she realized he didn't... Wouldn't give her the things she deserved.

It was the worst mistake of his life... He had watched from a distance how Rose turned herself to a very different woman, her innocence store in her past as she walked forward, doing things she would never say she regretted but he knew better... Until James came and swept her away making her see life in a different spectrum, he actually had come to terms with how things were progressing, realizing that as long as she was well and happy, he could live with himself and with the idea of her finding love with someone else. But then, James had to break her heart... He was already engaged to other woman, but temptation and the illusion of freedom could make people do stupid things. And James have committed the most stupid and unforgivable things of all... Giving hope to someone who thought there was none left... Only to take it away.

The moment Jeffrey entered it was easy to locate Rose, it was almost noon and the place was completely empty. She was sitting alone in the bar sipping a drink as she watched the musicians practice.

Jeffrey took a sit right in front of her blocking her view of the stage, she sipped her drink calmly and said "Go away Jeff"

"It's nice to see you too" he replied quietly as he watched her face intently, the veil she wear before was resting peacefully in the bar beside her purse, giving him the opportunity to appreciate her delicate factions.

"Have you come to make fun of me?" she asked narrowing her eyes on him. "I thought you were above that"

"I would never do that Rosy" he said quietly as he looked at her intently. "How are you feeling?"
