Chapter One : Introduction

A young girl who all her life have been under the pressure of being in a competition her step  sister who all her life lived in a quiet mansion and the only contact and real relationship she'd ever had was with the servants.me girl who have always been in the public eye. Now imagine being that girl. Wouldn't it be hard and stressful for you? That girl, her name is Kendra Washington and her story is going to be one of the best stories you'll ever hear. Now, before I enter into the full story, I want to give you a couple stories on why Jolene wanted to leave and on how her life back in her hometown was so difficult.

Kendra Washington had a great life with her real, birth mother and her father. Back then her father, James, wasn't so grumpy and so obsessed with work as he was later on in their life. When Jolene was about 5 years old, her mother passed away. Even though she is now, 22 years old, and that was 17 years ago, Kendra still remember every bit of memory she had with her mother. After her mother died, James became really, now whats the word? James became really...... really..... well, he lost control. Instead of moaning is sadness like every other person would do, he just stayed in his office crowding himself with word, trying to find himself to distract himself with. Sadly, he took it out on his daughter Kendra. Jolene was devastated the day she found out she was dead. Since she was five, and her father basically ignored any human contact, she complained and cried to the servants. When the servants were busy, she cried and complained to her toys. Jolene always tried to talk and make things right with her father but it never worked. One day, it was her eight birthday, and she wore her special dress she'd only wear to special occasions like this, and walked over with her tiny feet, trying to balance on her mini heals, to the kitchen. She grabbed a cupcake and a birthday candle and headed over to her fathers office. Well I don't know how to explain how to conversation went so just hear it your self.

"Hi daddy! Do you see my new dress? Isn't it just gorgeous? The servants helped me made it."

"Jolene, you have plenty of dresses. Why would you have the servants waste their time to make a dress for you with rags from the dish washer. Why did you even come here? Do you know how many things I would have been doing right now either than having this stupid conversation with you?"

"Okay daddy," Jolene said with a devastated face. "I'm just gonna leave this cupcake over here so you can eat this later. Mkay daddy?"

After that, James got up and threw the cupcake across the room and yelled to Jolene to get out. Jolene came out the office crying, while saying, "Bu-But, its my, my, birth, bir, birthday!"

How cruel! You don't treat
anyone like that, especially on their birthday. Well anyways fast forward, to 5 years later. It was Thanksgiving and Jolene was now 13 years old, she was about to become 14 in a month or two. She never usually talked with her father, don't get me wrong, she tried, but she just eventually gave up. She spent most her time studying and sketching drawings. One of the servants, Ahmedi, came up to her room to say these following words, "Mr James Washington requests your presence in his office immoderately." How sickening he couldn't even come down from his office but anyways, she walked down to his office to find out that James met this woman named Rose and that Rose and her daughter, Aria, are coming over to Thanksgiving. It doesn't end there, he also showed her A RING, and that he was going to propose to Rose at the Thanksgiving party. So the servants helped Kendra into her most lovely, classy dress in her closet, they curled her hair, and did her make-up. As Jolene was putting on her heels, there was the loud door bell. It was Rose and Aria. To summarize this long story, James proposed to Rose and she said yes. Now it is still till this day a mystery on why James even propose to Rose? How did they met? Why did Rose say yes? Well turns out it was all just a business deal for her property, and his property, put together blended. Also, Rose's company was about to be Bankrupted and James had the money to save her company, or sorry her fifth husbands company. What a gold digger. Never mind about that lets get to the juicy part. Now Kendra has long brown hair, pale skin, blue, bright eyes, and the best, warm smile you'll ever see. She is quite the beauty. The moment Aria saw her, she got jealous. No matter how much Kendra was nice to Aria, no matter how much Jolene gave her respect, Aria hated her guts. Now Aria has a big nose, short blonde damaged hair, with lip injections. A lot of people considered her the Kardashion 2.0 because she has gotten more plastic surgery than all of them put together. Anyways, after that Aria made Kendra's life a living hell. For some reason, no matter how much Jolene was the victim, the blame was always put on Jolene.

One day, on Jolene graduation party, (Yes James was nice enough to throw her a graduation party after she graduated high school because they were starting to get irrelevant and he needed something to get the public's eye attention.) One reporter asked her, "Now that you've got your High school Diploma, what do you see your future as?" Kendra was stunned. No one has ever asked her in a long time about her thoughts. This was probably one of the only things she was going to have control over in her life. Was she going to own a company and be like her father? When that thought popped into her head, she shivered. Anything but turning out like her father. This was it, she thought to herself, I need, she paused. Then she busted out to that reporter, "I need happiness. I don't want to stress myself over some company, I don't want to live in a dark big mansion by myself, I don't want all this publicity. All I want, is happiness. So it doesn't matter on how much money I make, or how famous I'm going to be. As long as I'm happy and healthy, that all that matters." Wow, that was, was, sorry a tear just fell out of my eye. THAT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL AND TOUCHING.

After that very night, she couldn't sleep, she couldn't rest, she wanted happiness. But how was she going to find that happiness? Then a genius idea popped into her head. She was going to leave. Not even escape just pack her things up and walk out the door. This is sad to say, but no one but the servants would care if she left. If anything they would be throwing a celebration party. Aria and her big fat nose would be so happy. Rose would start dancing on the tables, (which she doesn't even dance because she things only people who are low class would do that.) Her father wouldn't even notice. So at 4:00 am. She packed her things up while everyone was sleeping, and just, left. As she was leaving, she thought to herself, "I don't want everyone following me and everyone start thinking i'm dead and there's a ghost of me walking around a small city." Then she remembered a movie she saw with her mother, on how a girl wanted a new identity so she grabbed a knife and just chopped her hair off. So in this case, Jolene grabbed a pair of scissors used for sewing, and chopped her long hair off all the way to her shoulders. While she was at it, she gave herself bangs as well. She also, quietly went into Aria's bathroom and saw a hair dye because she was planning on giving herself natural highlights. So Kendra grabbed that hair dye box put it in her suit case, cleaned up all the hair she chopped off, and just simply left. Thirty minutes later, she arrived at the train station. She didn't even had a ticket so she went up to the front desk, and tried to order a ticket. She officially ordered a train ticket, to Carson city, Nevada. The train for that city didn't even leave until an hour, so what did Kendra do? She went to the train station's bathroom, and dyed her hair their. You'd think that would turn out into an epic fail, but she looked flawless as she exited out. One hour passed by, and she was on the train. All she ever thought about, was happiness.
